Waiting

She had been waiting for hours. She hadn't moved from the chair near the window for four hours, which was quite an achievement for her.

Who would have thought that, Nymphadora Tonks, not fidgeting and sitting still for four hours? She was excited she couldn't deny that. It had been three days since she had asked him at the meeting. It had taken her six months for her to ask him that one question.

Another hour passed and she started getting bored. She conjured a mirror and played with her hair, thinking about what colour hair she should have for the next time she saw him. In the end she settled on her favourite colour emerald green, it fell in loose curls around her face and shoulders. After liking what she saw in the mirror, she decided to clean her flat top to bottom, the muggle way.

Nymphadora was cleaning under the sink when she heard a flutter of wings and a very loud hoot, making her hit her head in fright.

After cursing the water pipe for being the way, Nymphadora stood up rubbing her head. She saw a little black owl perched on top of dangerously high pile of dirty laundry. She gasped. Was it his letter?

As she approached the bird it extended its leg out towards her proudly. Removing the letter she could feel her stomach knot itself. As soon as the letter had been removed and been given an owl treat the bird flew off.

Moving across the kitchen and into her living room, she looked at the neat, loopy penmanship on the envelope. Her eyes lit up.

He had answered!

She opened the letter and read the letter carefully so she didn't miss anything, her eyes sparkled more and more with every sentence she read.

Dear Dora,

After our "conversation" I would like to tell you that I am flattered that you feel think of me in that way. And I would also like to inform you that I think of likewise. And that's why I am sending you this letter to ask, if you would care to join me on a picnic this very sunny afternoon…

There was a knock on the door. Drooping the letter where se had stood, she ran to the door smiling. Nymphadora opened it and flew into the arms of none other than Remus Lupin, who dropped a picnic basket in the doorway of Nymphadora's flat.

"I take that as a yes then?" said a smiling Remus.

She looked up at her Remus and smiled. Standing on her tiptoes, she kissed him chastely.

"Yes." She said.

Remus smiled, picking up the woman in front of him with emerald green her and swung her around in the doorway of her flat before he lead her to the park.

Remus loved Nymphadora marigolds and all.
