Any fool Muggle with half a knut's sense would have called it "horticulture"—which was, after all, the proper word. According to the absolute fattest dictionary in Flourish and Blotts, the art of cultivating plants was, quite unambiguously, "horticulture." It was all right there in bold print. H-o-r-t-i-c-u-l-t-u-r-e.

But oh no, that just wasn't good enough for Phyllida Mae Spore. She was an expert. She was an authority. She was the most bigheaded witch in the country. A mere dictionary, presume to label her area of expertise? Perish the thought!

"Herbology, indeed," the printer scoffed. That wasn't even a word.
