Note:
Just a short little story I whipped up. This is the first piece I've ever written for MLP:FiM, so it's not perfect Enjoy!
She froze. Had they spotted her? No, thank goodness for that; they were too busy frolicking in the beautiful spring weather, entirely oblivious to her presence. She dove behind a bush and peered out at the ponies. She had been following them for a couple hours now, waiting for the perfect opportunity. She took a quick look around her. There was not another pony in sight save the six.
The six ponies that she was assigned to.
Her targets.
She had been given very specific instructions, and she would not fail. She never failed. But were they all present? Yes, they were; Fluttershy was busy admiring the flowers, Applejack was in the middle of a heated race with Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie was rolling in the fresh grass, and Rarity was learning growth magic from Twilight Sparkle.
Twilight Sparkle.
The pony her client needed most.
It was the perfect chance. None of them would suspect a thing. With a grunt, she lifted the heavy implement that she always carried with her and pointed it straight at the ponies. She whipped off her sunglasses; she would need to be very precise. She peered through the eyepiece of her device and centered it directly on Twilight Sparkle. The other five ponies clustered around Twilight for a group hug.
She smiled. Silly ponies. They were making her job way too easy for her. With all six of them so close together like this, her job was hardly a challenge. But now was her chance. Her left hoof faltered slightly; she shifted her grip on the smooth metal.
In that instant, that blasted Pinkie Pie trotted off behind a tree.
She growled in annoyance. That was a complication she could not afford. Her client had been very clear: she needed all six ponies. With Pinkie Pie out of view, there was a very real chance that she would only be able to get five, even though she was the best in the business.
She sighed with disgust. She would have to get their attention.
She steadied herself, peering through the eyepiece and centering her apparatus directly on Twilight Sparkle once more. She was ready.
"Hey!" she yelled. Her voice echoed through the hills. Pinkie Pie dashed out from behind the tree and joined her friends.
Perfect.
She pressed down with her right hoof.
The six ponies, wide-eyed, looked up at her in unison.
And then...
A flash.
It was a long way back to Canterlot, but she had finally arrived at the palace of her client. She trotted through the gleaming golden gates. Her client was already waiting for her.
"Did you get them?" Princess Celestia asked eagerly.
"Every single one," she replied. From out her satchel, she retrieved a shiny, flat square. She passed it to the princess.
The princess stared at it for several seconds. Finally, a smile flashed across her face.
"Wonderful, Photo Finish."
"Sorry I could not get you that candid shot you asked for," Photo Finish replied.
"Oh, that's quite alright. This is much better," Princess Celestia replied. "It's a beautiful photograph. I will treasure it forever."
Photo Finish beamed. "The magics."
