Alright...so this is my first time to ever post on fanfiction, so please keep that in mind if you review. Also I don't mind criticism as long as it's constructive, so if you hate it, give me some advice on how to make it better. I might be over rating the story as well, but better safe than sorry.
Disclaimer: I don't own Charmed or any of the characters from the show that appear in this story.
The Art of Falling
"Paige!" Piper ran over to her sister frantically and dropped down next to her on her knees. She placed one hand behind Paige's head, to hold it up, and reached her other hand across Paige's body to grip her hand. "Paige!! Come back to me! Please! Wake up!!"
Piper and Paige were alone in the house today, the day had been so calm and normal that neither expected the demon attack. The demon had shimmered in behind Piper and lit a fireball into his hand. Paige had looked up and spotted the demon just as he threw the fireball and leapt to push Piper out of harm's way, unfortunately getting herself hit the process. Now she was laying on the ground, covered in her own blood, her limp, unconscious form held up by Piper's shaking hands.
"LEO!!" she screamed to the ceiling above her, tears cascading down her already moist cheeks. She was covered in blood, but she didn't care. She saw nothing but the face of her baby sister, her whole world depended on Paige living through this. She was not going to lose another sister.
Paige's eyes flickered open weakly, "…Pi…per…," she whispered faintly.
"I'm right here sweetie," she whispered back softly and moved a lock of hair out Paige's face, "I'm right here."
Paige's mouth twitched into a smile and her breath came in sudden gasps, "Glad you're…okay…"
Piper smiled to her little sister, she was always there for her, whenever she needed help. Phoebe was there too, but with her work and her demonic ex-husband, she wasn't always the first one there. Paige was the first one there and it made her sad to think that she wasn't always the first one there for Paige.
"You're gonna be okay too, I promise," she said, letting even more tears fall and then turned her head back to the ceiling. "LEO!!" she shouted yet again, hoping beyond anything that this, this time, he would hear her calls. She even searched the room with her eyes, expecting the blue-white orbs to suddenly appear.
"He's not…coming…" Paige breathed through teeth that were clenched in pain. Piper's head whipped around to look down at Paige; her face was flushed and her breathing was heavy. Piper felt her shaking in her arms, or was it her own arms that were shaking?
"No…," Piper cried softly. This couldn't be happening. She couldn't be losing her baby sister, the one she'd never gotten to know and the one that she needed to know.
Paige reached up and wiped a tear falling down from her face; she closed her eyes and let out a sob. Paige pulled her close so she could whisper in her ear. Piper's eyes were still shut tight, but she was crying freely now, letting out every sob.
"Tell Phoebe…I love her," Paige whispered, Piper let out another loud sob and let it shake her entire body.
"Paige…," Piper said through softly through her tears. Piper lifted her head slightly and opened her eyes to look straight into Paige's, "I love you."
Paige pulled Piper back into her embrace and whispered softly, "I love you too."
Piper stiffened as she felt Paige relax in her arms; she pulled back and looked to her baby sister.
"PAIGE!!!" she screamed when she saw that Paige's eyes were closed, "COME BACK TO ME!!!! Please!!! Come back to me…"
Piper gazed expectantly at her through tear-filled eyes, but her wish never came. Paige never opened her eyes.
Piper leaned forward; eyes closed tightly with her head against her chest, and cried her heart out, with her baby sister in her arms.
