Rose tried, rather unsuccessfully, to smother a smirk, as the Doctor attempted to turn 'reaching for the sonic' into yet another casually misdirected gesture. "Go on, then," she laughed encouragingly. "You've been dying to do it for hours."

He grinned brilliantly as he whipped out the sonic and proceeded to scan her thoroughly.

"All right?" she asked, curling her legs under her voluminous pink skirt as she perched on the jump seat.

"Right as rain. Any dizziness or headache?"

"M'fine."

Pocketing the sonic, the Doctor reached out to hold her face in his hands, gently stroking his thumbs along her cheekbones.

"Doctor, I'm fine," Rose repeated, enunciating her words carefully.

He pressed his lips to her forehead. "I nearly lost you today."

"But you found me, yeah? Right here, right now, is all that matters, right? And I'm here. You found me."

"Not fair, Rose Tyler, throwing my own words back at me."

"Worth it to get you t'stop brooding."

"Time Lords do not brood."

"What you call it, then?" she asked cheekily.

He chose not to answer with words, instead leaning in to place tiny kisses on her eyelids, cheeks, and chin. And one silly little kiss to the end of her nose, just to bring out that smile that he loved so much.

"Don't stop there," she breathed, twining her arms around his neck.
