Title: Just Like the Movies
Drabble: #1
TK's prompt: Curry
Randomly selected pairing: Taiyako
Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon.
Notes: After asking permission, I'm using the idea that Rave The Rich is doing: writing a drabble for every possible pairing using the 01 and 02 kids. My good friend TK is giving me a prompt for each one, and randomly choosing the next pairing. Enjoy.

Miyako always wanted the kind of romance she'd seen in movies. Sometimes there would be a princess in trouble; perhaps being forced into an arranged marriage, or being tortured with abuse from her stepmother. Then a wonderfully handsome prince on a magnificent white horse would rescue the princess just in the nick of time, and they'd marry and live happily ever after.

As a little girl, Miyako had yearned for one of these knights in shining armour.

Then, as she grew up, chick flicks came onto the scene. Less focused on damsels in distress and handsome princes, they introduced Miyako to romance in the real world instead of in magical kingdoms. Some were high school based, and two people would overcome obstacles such as jealous friends and disapproving parents so they could be together. Others might have been about women being challenged in their searches for Mr Right.

These only fuelled Miyako's desire for a happy ending of her own.

She met Taichi Yagami in high school. He was hardly the perfect man; he loved to pull pranks on his unsuspecting classmates, his temper could be rather bad and it was obvious that he hadn't visited a hairdresser for quite some time. On top of that, his table manners were appalling. He wasn't exactly what Miyako had had in mind when she envisioned the man that she would one day marry.

But there they were, sitting together at their dinner table eating take-away curry, half listening to the TV that Taichi had left on blaring away in the next room.

It wasn't quite Miyako's fairytale romance. It was better.
