One day on the Island of Sodor, The Fat Controller went to Tidmouth Sheds, and spoke to Thomas. "Thomas, I have a job for you today. There is a trampoline waiting for you at Brendam Docks. You are to pick it up and take it to Knapford Station." So Thomas set off.
At the docks, Thomas saw the trampoline waiting on a flatbed. However, Cranky was still asleep. While he was sleeping, he moved his hook around, and picked up Thomas, then dropped him onto the trampoline. Thomas then bounced up into the air, higher, and higher, and higher…
Thomas looked to see he was floating around. All he could see was a black atmosphere, accompanied by stars and planets. "Holy muffin! This is outer space!" he exclaimed.
Then, an alien spaceship flew in front of him, and an alien stepped out. "Hello, visitor. Would you like to rule our planet?" it asked.
Thomas was surprised at being given leadership of something so easily, but said, "Yay! Leadership! Of course I'll do it!" So the alien got a rope, and tied one end around Thomas' front coupling, and the other end around a coupling that just happened to be conveniently placed on the spaceship. Then the aforementioned spaceship pulled Thomas away.
Meanwhile on Sodor, Percy and Toby had noticed Thomas' absence. "Have you seen Thomas anywhere?" asked Percy.
"Nope," replied Toby. Suddenly, Gordon thundered by with the Express. But he, Percy, and Toby were on the same track. The latter two engines were launched into the air, higher, and higher, and higher…
Percy could see the environment he and Toby were in. "Toby, I think we're in space." Said Percy.
"Hey, I think I can see Thomas!" added Toby, looking at a nearby planet. Then they defied a bunch of laws of physics by puffing over to it. Sure enough, there was Thomas.
"Thomas! Where have you been? Come on, let's go home," said Percy.
"I'm not sure. These aliens and I are getting along well," answered Thomas. One of the aliens slapped Percy and Toby with a fish. Percy blew his whistle, and because of how high the pitch was, the aliens exploded. Goo was splattered everywhere.
"Okay, I'll go home," said Thomas, spitting goo out of his mouth. The three engines rode on Nyan Cat's back to return to Sodor.
Later, James was kidnapped by the Pancake Tribe.
