Lily's Decision

She took her last breath,

she took her last glance.

She took a last look,

at him in her hands.

She said her last prayer,

her last apology.

She said her last curse,

one of enmity.

She thought about James,

and Sirius and Remus.

She thought of the fourth

and there happiness lacked.

How could he do this?

For what reason and why?

Instead of just loving them

he had left them to die.

She gave her last hug

to her first and only son.

And turned to face Him
