A/N: Sooo. I wrote this during my A.R. class, and I really liked it. The beginning sentence is the lyrics to a song, so see if you can guess! The bolded parts are flashbacks from Kairi's memories. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REVIEW!!
I've got my memories, always inside of me
Kairi gazed out towards the sea, slowly closing her eyes to stop the
tears from falling. But they fell anyway, just like everything else.
She feels them falling, caressing her skin on the way down. Why?
What happened? Opening her eyes, she thrust her head upwards,
and stared at his namesake. So bright, so blue……… Why was it
so happy? How could the rest of the world move on and forget
about her? About Sora?? She shut her eyes tight, willing the pain to
go away. Falling into the sand, she clutched her chest as the sobs
racked her body. Her hands bit into the sand until she felt something
pierce her skin. Bringing her hand back up, she screamed in agony
as she dropped the object. A thallassa shell.
"It's my lucky charm, be sure to bring it back to me!"
"Don't worry, I will"
He lied, he lied…….
"Kairi!!"
"Sora!!"
No, no. Kairi held her heart with renewed strength, as she heard
the ground break away.
"Kairi! Do you remember what you said before? I'm always with you too." Sora was clutching her hand, looking into her eyes to make his words all the more honest. "I'll come back to you, I promise!!"
Her tears were coming faster, and she wrapped her arms around
herself. "NO!!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. She didn't
care. She knew what was coming next, the words that slowly tore
her soul up inside, for she often wondered what had happened to
that girl. They were her own words.
"I know you will!!"
But I can't go back, back to how it was
