Fate

Chapter 1

A female brown wolf with brown eyes is walking through the forest of Alaska. It was nighttime and it was freezing cold. But where can she go? She had left the pack because most of the males only wanted her body.

"I hate him," she growled through her teeth. "He never loved me. He was selfish and always wanted me to mate with him, even though I'm not ready until mating season. I miss my friends. I gave them a choice to come with me or stay with the pack. I guess I'm a lone wolf now. Or I should say an Omega. And here I am, walking through the cold winter and talking to myself like a crazy person would. God, I need to find shelter to warm up before I freeze to death!"

She continues to walk through the blowing snow, now shivering because of the cold wind.

Balto, a wolf/husky with light brown fur and hazel eyes, watches on the shadows as Steele and the sled team were cheered by people in Nome. He was hurt; he has a few bruises on his body from Steele and his chin has a small cut. The team had just arrived a few minutes ago. Steele had beaten him pretty bad, but he had worse wounds before.

The musher was unconscious due to an accident. Some doctors got him into the hospital while other doctors got the medicine, and a musher unhooks the dogs. Female dogs came up to Steele, and being to say "You're a hero Steele!" and "My master's child is now well again thanks to you."

"I did it for the children," Steele said, with a smile, "not for fame, glory, or attention. Not for my selfish reasons, only for the children of Nome." Then he began to lie. "But that half-breed, Balto, try to prevent me and the sled team to get back here. Instead he wanted to be the hero. He was being selfish. I try to talk him out of it, but he…he attack me! But I managed to stop him."

The female dogs gasped in horror and shock. One female shouts, "That wolf/dog is no good!"

"He should just leave Nome!" another female shouts. "Everybody hates him here, anyways!"

A dog disagrees. "No, he should just kill himself! Everyone would be happy without him living."

Sorrow hits Balto's heart. "Those both females' dogs are right. I'm an outcast, and always will be. No one cares about me. Every human and dog hates me here, except Jenna and Rosy."

Balto turns around and begins to walk back to his boat, his head down in sorrow. "At least the kids are now well again. That's all it matters."

A tan wolf with blue eyes sniffs the air and then sniffs the ground. He looks in front of him and thinks to himself, I should have gone with you Ruby in the first place. Its cold out here and you will freeze to death.

The tan wolf sighs and follows the scent.
