She had woken up a few minutes ago, but his jet black hair falling in his eyes and the soft snore made her smile, keeping her in bed to watch him sleep a bit. There was peace in his expression, something that came and went in his waking hours. As to not wake the slumbering man, Keiko slowly rose out of their bed while tugging her shirt down over her rounded stomach. She had limited time before he would wake and start hovering over her, so working quickly was mandatory.
Keiko snuck into the kitchen, quietly pulling out their rectangular pan and heating up the stove. The rice cooker was set, eggs being whisked together. After making her egg mixture, she poured tiny layer after layer in, rolling the previous one before pouring the next. Her omelette formed, she slowly rolled it from its pan onto a bamboo mat, shaping it while still hot.

Taking a knife, she cut into the now formed roll, shaping them into little hearts before setting them on two plates. The rice was scooped into their bowls, fruit set in a tiny square box next to the rest of the food. The woman set all their food together on a tray her mother had given her, and hoisted it, using her stomach to help balance the load.

A nudge of the door, and she tiptoed to her husband, setting the tray on his bedside table before bending over as best she could to kiss

"Wake up, Papa," she greeted softly, kissing his cheek. Yusuke's eyes slowly opened, looking slightly annoyed from his wake-up call.

"Hey, what's the big idea? You know I didn't get home from work until late last—" the man's eyes widened in surprise, noticing the meal set to his side. "… For me?"

Keiko beamed, picking up the tray once again to set it in front of him. "Happy Father's Day, from me and the baby." She crawled to her side of the bed, settling into a comfortable sitting position while Yusuke shifted, moving the tray between them.

"You didn't have to make this. I'm not even a dad yet," he smirked, taking a piece of egg and stuffing it in his

"Well, I wanted to," she pouted, taking a piece for herself. "And you are, just not completely yet. Baby agrees." b

He laughed, taking a few pieces of fruit into his mouth before bending to gently poke and speak at his wife's swollen middle. A soft nudge came from inside, recognizing his loud voice. "Ne, you really think that, kiddo? Well, your old man's doin' better than your granddad ever did, that's for sure."

"Eat your breakfast before it gets cold," she warned, the corners of her lips playing into a smile.

"Yes, Mom," he grinned, kissing her gently.
