Author's note: I know some parts may be similar to the actual novel, I went back a little bit to edit but most of it was my interpretation as I hadn't read the rest!
At first I was not able to distinguish the face that fell into my vision.
Then I saw the blue eyes.
I didn't know how to react, I was in a state of near collapse or possibly even death, but I hated to be dramatic. Luke was pacing but he stood dumbfounded at the kids who'd just rampaged into out lovely cell. I heard Alec's voice, at first it was distant but soon I began to tremble, how unlike me. I tried to sit up from my propped elbow but it was too much, God I hate my father for making me look so weak. Alec gripped my shoulders, the firmness sending a rush of safety over me and I leant into his arms bowing my head so our foreheads rested, one cool and sweaty from running, the other burning with fever- oh how I wish this experience was shared in a more Intimate place, away from here and people. Hmm how about a bed?
"Magnus?" Alec asked, his voice strong but still betraying his inner turmoil
"I was always worried you'd die before me but at times like this, I sometimes believe you're the immortal one. My heart has long since withered but yours is strong and eternal" I mumbled. I heard Isabelle whisper to Simon who looked concerned. Alec's face creased into a cute little frown, he probably thought I was losing it. Perhaps I was.
"What are you doing here?" Luke barked suddenly
"To defeat Sebastian since no-one wants to listen to us" Isabelle shrugged
"Clary?" He whispered
"Yeah she's here but safe with Jace"
"Where?" At Luke's question Isabelle faltered "where Simon?" He directed the question to the vampire who nervously looked at Isabelle, stalling his answer by faking a deep sigh
"With Jace..." Luke relaxed "... and Sebastian" Luke paled.
"And you said she was safe"
Alec was struggling to get the chains off, I could see his anger as he saw the sores and bruises circling my wrists. I tried to keep a poker-face, the pain of Alec moving the chains sent cold shivers of pain up my arms. They felt like they were becoming burning lead
"I can't" Alec shook his head before giving an almighty pull causing tears to force themselves out of his eyes and the chains snapped sending him backwards and allowing me to roll over into my back, stretching my free body allowing all the accumulated cramps to disappear in aching relief, leaving my body shaking from prolonged tension- damn biology for showing bodily weakness! Alec was rushing back over to me on all fours, he sat down and place my head in his lap like in a romance movie
"Cliché" I moaned, grateful of Alec's tenderness with my body feeling so brittle. Alec let out a small wobbly laugh before Luke interrupted them
"We have to help them- Jace and Clary" he fretted
"You're too weak" Alec said sternly, "we'd be a burden more than help- look, your looking pretty thin and Magnus has a fever-"
"-not a fever" I laughed bitterly. Alec looked at me in confusion
"We're in his fathers realm. His Father is attacking him so he can pay a price" Alec paled, his grip on me tightening
"Your fathers..."
"Never mind" I gasp, grabbing onto Alec's muscular arms in an attempt to stand up. For once Alec didn't argue
"What's the plan then?" Simon asked
"Well..." I pondered.
Author's note: I'm not too sure if I want to continue this because I've read the rest of the book now- what do you guys think?
