Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, but I do own Eve.
A/N: This is one of the rare, rare fics were I have a fancharacter. I'm trying to make her as non-Mary Sue-ish as she can possibly be. Anyways, have fun and enjoy!
Summary: Eve Lewis, a normal human bipedal like you and me, had a choice. And she picked the wrong one.
The Wrong Nightmare
"Go Harry!" I cried from the stands. He turned and grinned in my direction. I pulled my scarf closer about my neck as the snitch flew in front of Harry. He was so close.
"C'mon Harry." I whispered. He reached forth his hand, and grabbed the snitch right before Malfoy...
"Eve. Eve..." I looked up at my science teacher. She shook her head. "What's the answer to number four?"
I looked down at my paper. Numbers and figures floated every which way. I focused my eyes on number four.
"Um.... uh..." I stammered. She frowned. "You have to start paying attention." I blushed as she walked away. The bell rang, signaling the end of science and the beginning of PE.
I walked through the dark halls and stared at the faces as they passed me. Most of the boys had their pants below their waistline; against school rules, of course. The girls had low cut pants, to low if you asked me. I was wearing a simple jean skirt and a red sweater. Someone pushed me as I turned the corner. I slammed into another girl, who thus landed on top of the guy standing next to her.
"S-sorry." I stammered. The girl glared and the boy started to say a string of cuss words. I walked hurriedly away into the PE room
We were playing volleyball that day. The ball volleyed back and forth between my team and the other. As usual, I was off in my own world of Harry Potter and how Muggles these days needed to dress better, when the ball headed toward me. I stared at it, but didn't seem to notice it until it was right in front of me. To late.
The ball smacked into my head, sending me flying. I landed on the floor, dazed and confused. I heard sniggers. I stood up and brushed myself off, and went to get the ball.
"Who picked her anyway?" I heard one of my teammates mutter.
That night I had a dream. Well, I do almost every night. But this one was different. It was dark, pitch black. I heard a voice in the distance.
"Which do you choose?"
For some reason, I knew what to say.
"Harry Potter!"
"Yes." The voice in the distance said. I felt like I had made a difficult choice, and that I had chosen the wrong one. I felt cold, then hot, then cold again. I felt cold one last time, then went off into another state of sleep.
The next morning, I woke up to find I was not in my room, or in my house, for that matter. I was outside, in the woods.
"What the hell?" I muttered. The most logical explanation at the time seemed to be that I had been kidnapped. I stood up and brushed myself off. I gasped.
I wasn't wearing my pajamas, but instead a long, black, robe.
"Wow!" Then a thought hit me. "I'm dreaming. This is a lucid dream." I sighed, then decided. "Well, better make the most of it. I think I'm gonna fly away from here now." I stood on my tiptoes and reached towards the gray sky.
Nothing happened.
"What, do I have to jump off a cliff?" I muttered. Turning around, I found out there were no cliffs around to jump off of. So I walked.
"Holy Jesus!" I gasped at the sight before me.
It was Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
