"You'll be a failure unless you know how to defend your weak points," the older boy said. His tied back white hair whispered through the wind. "Even if you know the unguarded point of your opponent, you'll never be able to take advantage of it without protecting yourself first."
"Yes, brother." The younger brother lay on the ground. Breathing heavy with a bloody nose he looked up at his older brother, "the secret of defense in martial arts is to always be alert!" He quoted. His brother was like a slave driver when it came to his training. Or was this torture?
"Then pay attention!" His brother screamed as he appeared behind the Kotaro. Kotaro only knew where he had gone by the stir in the air. Diving to his right, he dodged, managing to escape the full blow of his brother's back hand.
"You're a failure," he told Kotaro and kicked him across the small yard.
A shadowed figure stepped out from under the sakura tree and commanded, "That's enough, Sarutobi!"
Sarutobi looked at his father with cynical eyes, "Yes, father." He turned away from his father and vanished into thin air.
"Are you alright, Kotaro?" Kotaro lay on the ground without moving until his father's attention commanded him to show respect and answer.
"Yes, father."
"Why are you so determined to learn ninjutsu?" He looked at his quivering son, "You stand no chance against your fellow peers." His hard eyes locked onto Kotaro's, "Not even against your weak brother. You're pathetic."
"Yes, father."

"NARUTO!!!!" Sakura screamed. This may be a low level mission, but you still NEVER leave your post! She thought. A mission to protect a lowly curry salesman, Tsunade had told them. They were to escort the salesman from Konoha to a fishing village on the coast of the Fire Nation. So far they faced a couple wild bandits, but nothing too serious.
They had decided to take shifts throughout the night to ensure their safety while they camped, but when Sakura woke up in the morning, Naruto had disappeared.
"Where the hell could he be?" Sakura asked herself absentmindedly.
"Maybe he had to pee?" Sai offered while reading another book named "How To Make Small Talk."
Ugh! Sai is such a pain. And those books are ridiculous "We'll have to wait for him."
"No. We'll keep going," Yamato said as he pulled himself free from a tree on the edge of the camp. "As a ninja, he should be able to take care of himself."
"Okay" Sai and Sakura chorused.

The trees were heavily overgrown and emerald green. It was hot already, even though it was just morning. The orange jumpsuit wearing ninja hated the thought of noon approaching and the heat that came with it. "Why did I have to get lost from everyone else?" He asked as he unknowingly moved further away from Team 7 and closer to danger.
