Mistletoe, Mistle-WHAT?
Tenn's eyes were solely focused on the odd green object hanging from the doorframe. "Skoodge...?"
Skoodge's eyes, however, were solely focused on Tenn. That goofy grin of his displayed the dreamy feeling he felt on the inside. "Hmm...?"
Her eyes, however, were still glued above. "What is that thing above our heads?"
His eyes, after a few moments of coming out of his dream state, followed her's upward until his eyes landed on the tiny object. "You mean that green thing?"
"Yes, that... thing."
It seemed familiar to the ex-Invader. He remembered the big-headed human boy telling him about the object. Skoodge forgot the name of it, but defiantly remembered the purpose of the object.
'If two people stand directly under it, the human, mainly Christmas tradition, is for those two people to kiss.'
"We're supposed to kiss," he blurted out, rather excitedly.
Puzzled, Tenn glanced at him. "Kiss?" She had feelings for Skoodge, yes, and she didn't mind, at all, kissing him. Skoodge had feelings for her too. But there was a problem. Their love was new, almost innocent. The problem was the fact that they hadn't kissed yet.
Skoodge nodded quickly at her.
Tenn's cheeks burned almost immediately. "Uhh, well... I-"
"-We don't have to," Skoodge added quickly, though, it was quite obvious he really wanted to kiss her. But he would never do anything Tenn didn't want to do, and if she weren't ready, then he wouldn't rush her. "That is if... You know... You don't want to..."
"No, no!" Tenn shook her head in response, taking his hand in her's. "I do."
He felt relieved immediately. "You do?"
Tenn smiled softly, nodding once more.
He glanced up at the object hanging from their base doorway that Zim (after surely sneaking into their base), had probably put up there to jumpstart Skoodge and Tenn's relationship to a new, unfamiliar level.
Thank you, Zim! Skoodge thought, extremely grateful for his longtime friend. He was defiantly going to thank Zim later.
They stood there in silence for what felt like the longest time. Slightly hesitant, Tenn leaned forward toward Skoodge, while he, hesitant but at the same time giddy on the inside, leaned forward as well.
Her eyes closed, and then his eyes closed, just as their lips touched...
...And just as the first Earth snow of December began to slowly fall right outside their base.
A/N: I know it's January, but I wanted to write a SaTnnR one-shot, since I haven't written for them in a while, and two, because the idea popped into my head. This does fit into my IZ universe for my whole IZ trilogy thing... Yes.
And btw, this takes place a few months after "You're in My Veins" which I do really need to update. Skoodge and Tenn are on Earth living in a base together, and have just started going out. They seem like the innocent type, you know? Zim and Tak (in my stories) are just naughty with each other... Skoodge and Tenn, character wise, seem like the hesitant, shy types. Because they are coming from a planet where affection of any type is frowned upon.
