AN: Okay, well, I've made up my mind that I plan to write 25 stories with the Jason/Kat pairing. I was working on some ideas the night before, and I came up with a very strange concept, though I don't want to ruin any surprises by telling you what that concept is. Anyway, this is a one shot of Jason's life after my story, "Who Am I," which will be posted when I am done with "The Savior."

Also, I wrote this during my English class today, for some creative writing thing, so it might not be perfect...

Disclaimer: Me no own power rangers.

Summary: It's been five years. Five long years as Jason waits for the one he loves. Knowing the truth behind her disappearance, it's killing him inside, and he doesn't know how much longer he can wait…

Only a Moment

Five years. It's been five years.

A tear escaped Jason's eye as he walked through the graveyard. A bouquet of pink roses held tightly in his hand. There was an eerie silence that filled the graveyard, but Jason didn't seem to notice as he walked down the familiar path.

I haven't forgotten your promise, Kat. But as each day passes, my worry grows. It's been five years, and not a single word from you. Yet I pray. I pray that some day, some how, you will come back to me.

Jason stopped. He was at the tombstone. The tombstone that he had visited as much as he could. Though he knew the words inscribed on it, he read them once again. It brought tears to his eyes, but he couldn't cry. He had to be strong. During her "funeral," while the others cried, he had to be strong. He couldn't let his friends see him cry. It would only make himself feels small. And hopeless.

Why did you have to leave, Kat? I need you. I need you more then anything in the world. And lying to everyone else hurts me even more. It's killing me inside to know the truth when no one else does.

Jason knelt down on the ground and set the roses down. It was then that he noticed the slight breeze that was softly hit his face. He sighed. Then, uncontrollably, he started to cry. He didn't care any more. He just didn't care. "Kat," he whispered. Tears continued to fall down his cheeks as the cold wind softly hit his face, but he felt nothing. Nothing at all, until a warm hand touched his shoulder.

"Jason," a soft voice whispered, barely audible. But Jason knew who it was. It was HER. She had finally come back. He turned to see the young woman that he had come to love, but she looked so different. She seemed so different. Now, her hair was copper brown, instead of the light blond he had become so used to, and her clothing wasn't so cheerful as it had been before. But it was her. Jason knew.

"Kat," he said again, just staring at the figure, thinking that if he moved closer, the young woman would just disappear.

"Jason."

The girl walked closer to him, the sound of crunching leaves could be heard from underneath her shoes. Jason no longer worried. She was real, and Jason knew it.

"I love you Jason."

Soon, he had the young woman tightly in his arms. He wouldn't let her go. Not this time. His ranger, his love, was back in his arms.

I know. It's really confusing, but all will be told when my other story is revealed.
