First Time for Everything

"Michael? Can I ask you something of, somewhat, great importance to me?"

Michael and KITT were currently sitting up along the beach. Enjoying the sunny, warm weather and each other's company. Michael shifted his weight uncomfortably. As awesome as KITT was, his hard black hood wasn't the best place in the house to soak up the sun.

"You can ask me anything KITT. You know that, pal." Michael said while giving the hood a little pat of reassurance.

"Ok…..well I really don't know how to word this…so you would understand, I mean." Michael raised an eyebrow. It defiantly was not like KITT to stutter or let alone, worry about what he wanted to say would confuse Michael. They both knew KITT always said things with full confidence in himself and what he had to say. Michael took this as an opportunity to play mother hen with his partner and best friend.

"Is it something you're feeling or experiencing, KITT?"

"Feeling. However I can't seem to describe it." KITT's reply didn't contain any embarrassment, but his puzzled mind was showing in his voice.

"When do you experience this…feeling?" Michael already knew what was coming now.

"Well, the last time I felt that way, one of the mechanics were washing and waxing me. It wasn't anyone in particular, that I can remember at least, I felt weird around. It just came and went." Michael pondered this statement. It was clear that KITT was hiding something because, well,….

KITT can't forget unless programmed to by a human being.

Time to do some investigating..

"Can you recall exactly when you felt that feeling coming on?"

KITT didn't answer for a moment because he was thinking long and hard. Then he replied.

"Yes. It was when Julie told me to pop the hood so she could make sure everything was working properly."

Bingo.

Michael couldn't help but smirk at that. Julie Winston was one of FLAG's newest recruits. She was a very beautiful brunette, with sparkling white smile, sapphire blue eyes and a height of 5,6. She went to school to become a mechanic and fresh out of college. She had a very friendly personality, and seemed to like KITT a lot. In fact, as soon as she heard that she was going to be working with a super car, she just about flipped.

"You know, KITT. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you have a crush on Julie!" Michael was excited now and chuckled as he said it.

"Michael! That is impossible! I do not have the ability to form feelings in such a manner. Let alone a female in this case."

"Sorry pal, but no. It's not impossible to form a crush on Julie. I'll admit it myself. I took a little shine to her." Michael could've sworn he felt KITT's hood getting warmer the more and more they talked.

"You take a shine to any beautiful girl Michael. Period." KITT snapped back.

"Ok so, maybe that's true. But still, you can tell me if you like her. I won't tell anyone. I promise." Michael said now serious. KITT pondered this for several moments before answering Michael. KITT sighed a defeated sigh and in a very human manner before replying.

"…Yes….I guess I do like Ms. Winston in a different way besides friendship. But…..Michael?" KITT said softly.

"Yeah buddy?" Michael's voice also soft as his.

"You tell anyone this and I swear to Wilton Knight himself! I WILL hunt you down and I can promise you it will NOT be pretty!" KITT's reply made Michael jump. His voice was so fierce and deathly with a hint of a growl in it.

But deep down inside….he was very happy KITT admitted it to him.

Just another subject to blackmail him about. Michael thought to himself evilly.
