A/N: Another Challenge fic. This is 'The Pick Up Line Challenge' made by the lovely .. The challenge was to use the pic up line given in a story. So this is what I came up with. The line given is in Bold Italic. Enjoy :)
Two Sickles
"Lily!" Scorpius yelled running through the crowd of students. Lily turned around and smiled at him.
"Yes?" she asked politely.
"I have found the right one! I feel confident about this," he said, and keeping with his word he sounded very confident.
"You could just ask her out," Lily suggested. Scorpius lifted his eyebrow at her and shook his head.
"Rose can not simply be asked out. I need to ask her out in a way she can't deny," Scorpius said arrogantly.
"Fine, let me hear it," Lily gave in. Scorpius stood up straight and put his fist to his mouth coughing dramatically into it.
"Are your legs tired, because you've been running through my mind all day long," he said. They both stood silent for a moment and Lily just starred at Scorpius, then finally she burst into a fit of hysterics.
"You are an idiot!" she gasped through laughter holding onto her stomach. "There is no way Rose will fall for that," she said standing up straight. Scorpius scowled at her and sighed.
"That one took me ages!" he grumbled. Lily looked at him sympathetically.
"Just ask her," Lily said simple. Scorpius shook his head and smiled.
"I reckon that line will work," he said confidently.
"I bet you two sickles that she rejects you," Lily smiled. Scorpius thought about that carefully before holding out his hand.
"Alright," he said and they shook hands.
…...
Lily and Rose were sitting at one of the picnic tables outside on the grounds of Hogwarts. They had her books sprawled out on the table and had attempted to do one of the may assignments they had but ended up just talking, like usual. Out of the corner of her eye Lily saw Scorpius making his way across the grounds. She smiled and Rose turned around to look to.
"Oh, it's Scorpius," she said turning back her face a deep red. She starred at Lily smiling uncontrollably. Rose had liked Scorpius for two years now, which meant every time he came close, she uncontrollably blushed and found that her words caught up in her throat.
"Hey Lily, Rose," Scorpius said sitting down next to Lily and looking across at Rose.
"Hi Scorpius," Lily said. Rose gave an awkward smile and embarrassing grunt and looked back down at her book. Lily elbowed Scorpius in the side making him ask, or as her mind called it, lose.
"Rose?" Scorpius asked. Rose looked up and smiled.
"Yes?" she asked.
"Are your legs tired?" he asked. Rose shuffled in her seat.
"No, Why?" she asked sweetly still smiling and looking over at Lily who was trying not to laugh.
"Because you have been running through my mind all day," Scorpius said sitting up straight and smiling. Rose giggled softly and blushed. She clumsily looked at her watch and packed up her books.
"I, um, have class," she said getting out of her seat with trouble and walking forward a few steps. She turned back around and bit her lip. "Do you want to walk me?" she asked. Scorpius who was looking upset suddenly perked up and jumped up out of his seat and up next to Rose.
"Seriously? You fell for that?" Lily asked causing Rose and Scorpius to turn around. Rose looked up at Scorpius who was quite a lot taller then her.
"What can I say? That was a very clever line," she said. When Scorpius looked down at her she blushed and turned back around. "Let's go, or I will be late," she said taking Scorpius' hand and walking into the castle.
