Wanda moved towards the Avengers archer, Hawkeye. He wasn't paying attention, just shooting people who shot at him. Wanda shot out at him with her powers. Clint gasped as it hit him.
He was instantly forced into a flashback. Loki approached. He jabbed the scepter into Clint's chest. The scepter began to control him. The scene changed and Clint was fifteen and being trained, back at the circus.
His mentor put him in a choke hold. Clint grappled at the hand, trying to get free. "Please," Clint choked out. His mentor let him go saying" You're sloppy" "I'm sorry," Clint said.
"How can you expect to have a place in this world?" "I'll never have a place in this world" Clint whispered. "Exactly."
Clint looked down again. His mentor shook his head in disgust. "Let's start again" His mentor said harshly. Clint nodded. Once again, Clint messed up his shot. He couldn't break any choke holds or beat his mentor.
Clint was failing. And his mentor was p*ssed. "Idiot boy," he hissed. Clint looked down, feeling sad. His mentor shook his head in disgust. "I'm sorry," Clint mumbled.
"Do better next time!" His mentor barked. "Yes sir," Clint sighed "Go again," his mentor commanded. Clint sighed and began again. His mentor watched as Clint trained.
Clint sighed as he pushed himself. Clint messed up again and his mentor had enough of it.
"Barton if you mess up one more time, I am paying your little brother a little visit," his mentor threatened. "You mess up. And he gets messed up." Clint was knocked out.
Clint woke up in his bed, and saw Loki smiling over the dead bodies of his family.
"You can add your family to your ledger." The God of Mischief laughed as Clint tried to shoot him with an arrow, but Loki disappeared.
"No! Laura! Cooper! Lila!" Clint cried
"Nothing you do can save them!" Loki whispered in the archer's ear.
Clint was then fighting Natasha on the Helicarrier. He was helpless as he knocked her back and shot her in the heart. Loki's control went away just as she died, and Clint broke down in tears.
Loki appeared behind him.
"I promised her that you'd kill her, and then awake to see your handiwork. You can't save anyone." Loki said. Ultron then appeared.
"The Avengers will go extinct, with you knowing that your family is next." Ultron said. Clint's father and older brother then glowed into existence, and began to beat Clint.
"Foolish boy." Clint's father grinned.
"Still weak." Clint's brother laughed.
The scene changed yet again and Clint was in Budapest with Fly. Clint and Fly were running. "Clint! Wait up!" Fly cried. Clint didn't stop. "Clint. Slow down," Fly panted.
Clint sped up. "Clint!" Fly cried. Clint stopped and turned around. "Leave," he said harshly.
Clint came out of the vision shaking. Natasha was standing over him. Wanda stepped back. She felt guilty for harming this man. He was only fighting to defend his family, as Pietro and she did for each other.
She fled off.
