Prologue: Goodbye

'Every goodbye makes the next hello closer.'
-Anonymous

The thought of saying goodbye to someone not only feels heart wrenching, but it also feels like someone has punched the life right out of you. I mean, where's the 'good' in 'goodbye'? Every time someone says goodbye, it always has to be a sad thing.

Which reminds me: I would never forget the day when I unofficially said goodbye to my family, my friends, and the whole entire world.

I could feel every breathe I breath, every minute I live, every memory I remember, enter this dark hole in my mind. My eyes forced me to go into a deep sleep, knowing that I'll never wake up from this terrible nightmare.d

In the back of my mind, I hoped and prayed that I would soon wake up and find out that I'm sleeping in a hospital bed. My family and friends are surrounding me with worried looks on their faces—my mother clutching a rosary in her hand, my father gently stroking my hair. Everyone would be telling me that I would be fine, that I've fallen or someone saved me at the right moment. But this is reality, there's no way that could happen unless I'm in a movie.

'Don't worry, you won't be gone forever.' A deep, beautiful voice echoed through my mind, 'This goodbye makes your next hello closer than you think.' I didn't know what that voice was talking about, but for some reason, I knew I could trust it.

I knew it wasn't my conscious talking, because the voice sounded so real. It was like someone was saying it right to my face. I could feel a presence standing right beside me telling me everything's gonna be fine. It couldn't be my mother—this voice was too deep. It couldn't be my father—the voice sounded too gentle. I know it couldn't be any of my friends; I've been around them too much to actually know what they sound like.

So who could it be? And how did I get here?

I don't remember much of what happened, but I know it started off as an innocent school trip to Italy...

A/N: I hope you guys like the prologue. Sorry it's a little short but I'm no good with introductions and what-not. I've been debating on whether I should make sequels for this story, or make this into one whole story starting from Twilight, all the way to Breaking Dawn. Please review. They inspire me to write more all the time. Whether is a complement or constructive criticism, I'll still take them into consideration.
