As Arthur opened the curtains, he could clearly see the sky had gotten darker. The usual rainy English weather was different, a more dreadful kinda weather. No small slips of light shone through, no hoping that later in the day the sun would shine for a few minutes. No, now all that was in the sky was pure ash, suffocating those poor creatures caught up in the sky, and slowly drifting down to contaminate the pure air Arthur breathed so dearly. Arthur let out a sigh as he decided to close the blinds back again, feeling that he would rather shield the awful world outside than deal with it face to face.
With the clink of the blinds closing, the Brit made his way over to his old arm chair in his parlor. He had had that chair for years and it was in perfect condition, well except for the small tear on the right side made my a mischievous little America many years ago. Letting his mind float away to past memories, Arthur wondered about Alfred. Did he know of the eruption of the volcano in Iceland? Did he realize that this event could ultimately affect his people as well? Deciding the git was probably to busy saying how he was going to save the world and plug up all the volcanoes to care, Arthur decided to dismiss his worry, and settle with a cup of tea instead.
As Arthur sat in silence, contemplating on what had happened and what could be done to help his country and the rest of Europe, he gaze soon fell across the calendar hanging above his desk. Realizing today's date, Arthur soon found a frown upon his face as he remembered that today was that day. Poor Feliks thought the blonde as he took another sip of tea, he was so devastated when he called and now no one can get to him. The eruption had caused quite some trouble with European air traffic and it didn't help that today was supposed to be the funeral for the Polish president. Arthur could only hope that Toris would be able to somehow make it to Poland and be able to comfort the shorter blonde. Those two had always been close and if anyone could cheer up the Pole it was Feliks. Too bad Iceland didn't have such a friend.
Arthur could only imagine the pain Iceland could be feeling, how scary it must have been for the small boy when the volcano had erupted, how terrified he must have been. He is such a small island to begin with, its really hard to evacuate too many people. The thought of the small nation screaming in terror and fright when the volcano blew its top made Arthur shutter. He decided not to dread anymore on the past and just try to look to the future. The one where everyone can get back to their love ones, families have houses again, and no one is scared of total climate changes.
Arthur soon found himself slowly slipping in and out of consciousness, his mind going blank in the process. Deciding to let sleep over come him he fell asleep, letting one though drift throw his mind.
"All I want is a little bit of sunshine…"
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You can not know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away…
