Harry looked at his watch. It was 10:52; eight minutes until the Hogwarts
Express left Platform nine and three quarters. He had arrived early because
the Dursleys had a 10:30 train to the airport, and then a flight out to the
Americas. Actually, Hawaii. Harry didn't care one bit that they had left
him for Hawaii, he didn't think that they would like him any better in
Hawaii than they did in Surrey. Harry looked up at the oncoming Hogwarts
students.
There, he saw Seamus Finnigan and Dean Thomas, both fellow Gryffindor students. He waved, and looked around some more. He spotted a group of red haired people, two adults and four children. Harry immediately caught their eyes and waved. Ron Weasley, his best friend, hurried over to the platform in which Harry was waiting. Ron was tall and gangly, about 5 foot 6 and very red headed.
"Hey, how did you get here?" asked Ron as soon as he reached Harry.
"Dursleys, amazingly enough. They had a train out, so I hitched a ride."
Ron laughed and started looking around, "Seen Hermione or Pavarti yet? Pavarti told me she would be in with Padma around 10:55."
"Nope, but we better get going on to the platform because I really don't feel like flying a car to school again, and its not because of the car," Harry said, shuddering. Just the thought of what his least favorite teacher, Professor Snape, would do to him if he saw Ron and Harry fly the Weasley's car to Hogwarts again scared him. Ron laughed and looked over at platform 10. The other Weasleys were heading in. First, Harry saw Fred and George go, then Ginny and Colin Creevey, and then Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. Ron steered his cart towards the platform, and Harry followed. Ron reached the platform and motion Harry to hurry. He went up next to Ron and headed straight for the wall between platforms nine and ten. They went right through the wall and were finally on Platform Nine and Three-Quarters. Ron started towards the train, Harry on his tail.
"Harry! Harry! Harry!"
Harry looked around to see who was calling his name, and sure enough, he spotted her. Over the crowd of hundreds of Hogwarts students, was a frizzy haired brunette. Harry knew that head oh so well; it was Hermione Granger, his love. Harry handed his bags to one of the Gryffindor prefects, waved, and headed towards her.
Hermione had gone to Egypt for the holidays, so she was beautifully tanned and extremely freckled. She had sent many owls to Harry at the Dursleys. He was thankful that she had, because he knows that he would have gone crazy if she hadn't. Harry thought about the time she went to France and how incredibly tanned she was when she got back. She looked much better now.
Hermione ran over to Harry and threw her arms around him. Harry returned the embrace and looked her in the eyes. She had the most beautiful gray eyes, and Harry was glad that she was his, and no one else's. Harry kissed on the forehead and took her hand. Hermione and Harry set off towards the train.
