Today, we lost an icon in the horror genre. We lost the creator of The Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, the Scream series, The Hills have Eyes among other classics. Wes Craven, the man who gave possibly THE most recognisable horror movie villain of all time in Freddy Kruger has died of Brain Cancer. This man was a horror movie genius, the concepts that he came up with were amazing and then he later parodied the genre he helped create with the Scream movies.
I may not know much about him, but he was a true great and a legend in the film community, especially among horror fans like myself. May he Rest. In. Piece.
