It seems that I'm giving the righting game one more shot.

Miserable At Best.

Chapter 1: Regret.

He pushed her away, as hard as he could, not physically of course. Kiba was never one to hit a woman, quite the contrary in fact. If there was anyway to make it out alive it was THAT, and it was THAT, Kiba was sure, was the biggest mistake of his life. "Don't ever speak to me again." He said…what a damn fool. Regret was the reoccurring feeling that coursed through him as of late when he reminded himself of that day, and all the days before. All the random bits of affection, the words, the kisses, the sex, the shame and vulnerability that came with dating someone. Kiba never liked showing too much emotion beyond his bad boy exterior, but with her it didn't matter, no one else mattered in fact. Ino was his equal in his eyes; The tough outside to the strangers, soft inside to friends and family and the pure, almost raw animal instinct that exploded whenever their lips met. None of that mattered now though, she broke his heart like a fist into a mirror. He screamed inwardly at the very thought of it. But could it even be called a memory? Four days ago he left with Shino for only a two day mission, not even 1000 miles away from Konoha and his world fell apart for three reasons; 1. Alcohol, parents leaving on a family mission for a week and 3. Naruto Uzumaki. But right now, in this very moment…he was taking his revenge.

"You bastard!" he yelled as he drilled his fist into the blondes face.

"Kiba enough!" Yelled Sakura as she ripped the dog of off the fox. "I asked him to come here!"

"I don't care!" Kiba clenched his fist; he was fuming at the sight of that treacherous bastard. "What? Don't have anything to say?!" Naruto stood up and wiped the blood from his lip…he said nothing. "Say something you son of a bitch!" Kiba made a short lived advance toward Naruto. Sakura stood in between the two.

"I understand you're hurt Kiba…" she started.

Naruto softly moved Sakura out of the way. "Stop, he has every right to hi-" Kiba had thrown another punch before Naruto could even finish. "Stop acting like that God Damnit! You think the Mr. Nice guy act is going do anything! That it will fix anything with Ino and me!? Before Kiba could even think to say something he was on the floor gasping for air… he pushed Sakura a little too far.

"I asked you to stop…" She regretted hitting.

"Why…How can you protect him…" he said trying to stand back up.

"He's my best friend…what did you want me to do?"

"Nothing…your two best friends are together now. Is that why you had me come here? So you could throw it in my face too…"

"I had you come here so I could check on your injuries from your last mission." She began to walk toward him.

Kiba swung his arm out. "Just leave me alone, I don't need your help." He began to make his way out of the room.

"Kiba." Sakura pleaded. But it fell on deaf ears as he ran.

The rest of the day was a complete blur. Things just weren't the same for Kiba, he found himself easily forgetful, he talked to himself a little more than usual and having this awkward feeling, of what he could only describe as paranoia. But Kiba found enjoyment in a single item of good and evil. He slowly shook the glass in a circular motion so that the ice would settle nicely on the scotch. Kiba smirked, she found it annoying we ever he did that. He slammed the glass on the table and filled it back up. Tonight he was playing a game he liked to call "Forgetting her", he knew sadly though, the world of dreams was one place he couldn't control. Finishing up the last bit, he made his way into his bedroom. Tomorrow he prayed, was going to be better….right?
