The little lost child.
By: Allison Wren
She was all alone when I found her. She was curled up against a brick wall in an ally. Her shoulder-length brown hair was tangled up and dirty from being outside for so long. She looked up at me with big pale blue eyes and small, pink, puckered, lips. She had dirt smeared on her left cheek and chin. Tears streamed down her little cheeks.
"Mama! Where are you?" She called out in a high soprano voice. "Have you seen my seen mama?" she asked looking into my emerald green eyes. I shook my head no. She started to cry some more.
"There, there child. I'll take you home with me. Everything is all right." I reached down and picked her up. She was incredibly light. I carried her down the street to my big two story log cabin. I opened the door and carried her up the steps and into the small bathroom. While the water was running I managed to find her a pair of pajamas for the night. As she soaked in the tub I put some bacon on the oven to fry. After a few moments she stumbled down the steps and to my side.
"May I have something to drink?" she asked in a small whisper.
"Of course my darling. Would you like some orange juice or water?" I asked in a gentle voice.
"Water." She smiled a little. I poured her a glass and put her in my small highchair. When the bacon was done she ate it quickly and yawned a little.
"Come little one I shall put you to bed in the spare room." I said walking her down the hall and to the right. She fell asleep quickly in the big queen sized bed. I heard the door open and close quietly.
"Lamia? You home?" My husband, Joseph yelled.
"Shhhhh. You'll wake the child." I smiled half-heartedly.
"What child?" he asked shocked.
"I found a child in the ally today. She was all alone and dirty so I brought her back with me." I said with a smile on my face. He raised his eyebrows. I took his big hands and pulled him to the room. He looked at her in awe.
"She's so little. Can't be more than a year old at the most. What are you going to do with her?" he asked.
"Well i was thinking about keeping her. I've already thought of the name Bette. she won't remember a thing when she's older so why not?" I asked. he nodded then went to our room.
I changed the name but its how i think twilight should have started out. Bella acctually being adopted. well comment and tell me if you liked it or if i should change anything :)
