Title: And Spring Arose
Rating: G
Summary: Post-Series Two finale. Our heroes return to England in the spring, a time for new beginnings and old loves.

And Spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on Earth's dark breast
Rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.
Percy Bysshe Shelley, "The Sensitive Plant"

They come home to springtime. Much could cry with happiness because he is sure now that there is nothing in the world so perfect, so beautiful as this. Their camp is cloaked in bluebells and he takes care to step around them each day, not to trample their perfection underfoot.

He thinks of taking some to her, but bluebells shrivel and fade once picked, and that seems too ominous a gift to give a lover.

So he goes alone and tells her of their beauty and finds the promise on her lips that she will come herself to see them.
