Face rose out of the water, flicking his wet hair out of his eyes. As he took a deep breath in then out, water sprayed off of his lips. At the same time, Murdock and Amy rose. Amy was bent over gasping and coughing. Murdock breathed heavily. Both men held a hand of hers each.
"Man, I hate it when that happens!" Murdock cursed placing his dripping wet baseball cap back on his head, as the three of them started to wade to the shore. "That's two choppers in a month."
"You okay?" Face asked nervously looking at Amy and then surveying the surrounding area of woodlands and country terrain.
Amy nodded, still coughing. "That's the longest I've ever had to hold my breath under water."
"Yeah, it's not nice, Chica." Murdock squeezed her hand. "You did well."
"Come on, head for those trees for cover," Face ordered. The two of them, either side of Amy, helped her as they scrambled up the bank and ran for the cover of the trees just as a helicopter flew over them. Murdock looked up, through the branches, to see the helicopter circling. It was searching for them.
Still gasping for air leant against a tree, Amy combed back her wet hair with her fingers, sweeping it off of her face. She was grateful her hair was short. Face gave a cheeky smile at her. She gave a questioning look back.
"Now I know what you look like as you come out of the shower." Face winked.
Amy laughed, rolling her eyes and playfully slapped him on his shoulder.
"Coz, Amy always takes muddy showers, Face." Murdock tutted.
"Hannibal's going to kill me. I'm not even suppose to be with you two," Amy said, starting to breathe more easily.
"That was my fault, Amy. I'll explain it to the colonel." Murdock tried to reassure her with a smile.
"Right." Face's tone became serious as he started to take off his shirt. "Amy, you're going to have to lose your blouse."
"What?" Amy was now suddenly aware that her blouse was very see-through as it clung to her body. She crossed her arms in front of her to hide her very visible bra.
"It's white, and you'll stand out like a sore thumb. Put this on." Face handed her his darker shirt. As the cold air hit his skin, he instantly got goose bumps over his damp body.
"He's right, Chica, you'll be spotted instantly." Murdock nodded. "I'd offer my jacket, but my t-shirt isn't much better."
Amy sighed, taking Face's shirt and turned herself away from them as she put it on over her blouse and buttoned it up.
"Right, Hannibal and BA should be over that ridge." Face pointed out in the far distance.
"That ridge?" Amy sounded nervous.
"Ah, don't worry, we'll make it by dark." Murdock said, squeezing her hand again.
"By dark?" Her voice squeaked, panic in her tone now.
"We can use this line of trees for cover, but only for so long. Let's get a move on, before–."
Dogs could be heard barking in the distance.
"Damn it!" Murdock grabbed Amy's hand.
"Run!" Face grabbed her other, and the three of them ran away from the sound of the barking and towards the ridge.
"Get back in the river, Murdock. Let's try to lose our scent!"
