The Romance of Makki and Legolas
Authors' Note: The following is a joint work between two friends. We're very proud. LOL! If you are curious about why we chose the sound effects we did in Legolas' dream, you may enjoy the youtube video entitled Lord of the Rings Voiceover. That is where we got our inspiration... Oh, and please do not take this story seriously. If you wish to be humored, amused, and slightly baffled then this is the story for you.
Legolas
Mmmmmm.MMMMMM. mmmmMMMMMMMMMMMMmmm ... I slowly opened my eyes. Hmmmm...whhhaaaa...Oh... What a lovely dream that was. Oh, but the details are slipping away... There was a girl in it...that much I remember. She was so beautiful...almost as beautiful as me... She had no ass...but still. Beautiful... Yawning, I stretched luxuriously and looked up at the trees above me.
Mmmmmmmm...
Makki
I woke up in a forest, groggy from the rum I'd last night with my friends Grace and Netty. I wiped my eyes and looked around at my surroundings. The forest was lush and green, and I could barely see the sky because of the dark canopy overhead. Brushing the leaves off of my jeans and tee shirt, I stood up and walked around in circles a few times before finally returning to my original spot. Where was I anyway? I didn't remember going into any forest. Perhaps my friends had played a practical joke on me.
As I was laughing at the realization I heard a soft moan coming through the trees. Rushing towards it I peeked through the shadows to see a crumpled heap on the forest floor. It looked like some sort of blue man, and as I looked closer I noticed he had a white mark in the shape of a hand on his forehead. He grunted in pain, for in his left shoulder was a feathered arrow. It was beautiful, with hand carved markings over its body, and soft white feathers at the top. Despite the strange sense of foreboding in the pit of my stomach, I carefully reached down to pull it from the strange creature's shoulder.
The moment I touched the arrow, a clawed hand flew at my throat and the creature opened its eyes and seeing me, let out the most hideous roar I had ever heard in my life. Choking in pain, I looked around for a branch, a rock, anything to defend myself but there was nothing in sight. My hands flailed wildly but the harder I struggled, the tighter his grip fastened.
Growing angry at my squirming, the creature reached for his hilt and raised a huge rusty ax at my face. Before I could let out a scream, an arrow whizzed through the air and landed square between his eyes.
Legolas
A roar, and quite nearby! Sounds like trouble...and by trouble, I mean orc, I mused, reaching for my bow and swiftly stringing it, bringing an arrow to the string in almost the same instant. I'd better go investigate. Near it was; a clearing not ten yards away. That's the orc I met last night. I suppose it didn't quite die when my arrow pierced it before. What's this? It's got someone! Not putting much thought into it, I aimed and shot again; this time my arrow was instantly fatal. Stepping a bit closer, I discovered who the beast had been attempting to crush. Why, it's...a young lady...most curiously dressed I might add, for a human. The girl turned around, clearly still rather shaken. My heart leapt. I...I don't believe it...it's the girl I was dreaming about! Strange, I've never been one to receive images of the future, even in dreams. I know it's quite common, but still...how very...startling. Realizing I was staring at her, I took another step forward.
"Are you all right?"
"Ummm...yeah, I guess I am now. What was that thing? I was trying to pull the arrow out, and it just attacked me!" the girl replied.
