A/N: Just so everyone knows I am still working on MOML I am not abandoning it! I'll give you all my excuses when I update. Now I wrote this awhile ago when I was on my hammock and I decided to post it in honor of OGSY coming out soon. Enjoy :D
Disclaimer: I don't own anything and I won't get to meet the amazing creator of these characters because I'll be at camp :(
I was walking through the dark and eerie streets of Roseville Virginia when it happened. One minute I was walking thinking about how best to get Macey to not use me as her guinea pig for her newly invented instant eyelash curler and the next I was surrounded by people in black. They jumped off the buildings, climbed out of dumpsters, and did the good old fashion walking around the corner. Less dramatic but more practical. I was outnumbered at least thirty to one. I knew that I had little to no chance of getting away but I had to try. I threw punches and kicks. I broke one lady's wrist, kicked a guy in his balls, and somehow managed to remain unharmed. I have to admit that I was feeling pretty good until I heard a gunshot ring out.
"That's enough!" a man yelled, with the gun he had just shot pointing towards the sky. Immediately the people in black backed away from me forming a half circle. I knew that my only chance of escape was passed the guy with the gun but I also knew that if I tried anything I would be dead.
"Zach, come here," he ordered, and Zach stepped into the moonlight. I gasped. I couldn't help it. Here it was. Proof that Zachary Goode was out to get me. This was how he knew the guy in front of the door.
"Do it," the man said gruffly, handing the gun to Zach. He took it uncertainly and aimed it directly at my heart. I couldn't believe it. I may not have trusted him one hundred percent 24/7 but I never expected this. And yet, I knew I shouldn't be surprised. I stared at him, trying to conceal the hurt; I couldn't let him know that he had broken my heart. When I looked closer, however, I almost thought he looked sad. As though he had been dreading this. He looked nervous and he was sweating. Stop it Cam, I told myself, don't make excuses for him. After an excruciatingly long fifteen seconds in which I was waiting to hear the shot, he lowered the gun.
"I can't do this," he said.
"What?" demanded the man.
"I said, I can't do this," Zach repeated. He dropped the gun and walked towards the middle of the circle, towards me.
"Zach, what are you doing?" I whispered, panic setting in.
"I can't kill you," he said quietly yet firmly. His voice carried due to the dead silence which surrounded us as he said, "I love you, Gallagher Girl, and I've been in love with you since that first day I met you in that elevator in D.C. and you revealed your destination." I cringed at the memory.
"If they want to kill you," he continued stepping between me and the gun, "They're going to have to kill me as well."
"Fine," the man said with an evil glint in his eyes. "You were bound to be a disappointment anyways." He lifted the gun and the last thing I heard was a huge Bang! before I shot upright in my bed breathing hard.
"It was just a dream," I whispered but couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right. I knew Zach was up to something. What I didn't know was what he was up to.
A/N: I know it was short and the ending is a little lame but I couldn't bear to kill them :( anyways what did you think? And is Zach Good(e) or Bad? Let the speculation begin :)
