I can't believe it! she silently screamed, feeling as she splashed face-first into the pond. She could hear as the pleasant chirps of birds and frogs left her head, giving her a sense of serenity.

The smell of water hit her nostrils; to her, water always had that distinctive scent to it. Added to her ability to breathe under water, she knew-more than anyone else-of water's sweet fragrance.

It had only been a couple months since she was introduced to the island paradise she now called home. Said months gave her little time to learn of the citizens and their habits, yet she surprisingly knew each and every one of their names. Even more shocking was the change she had undergone the day before.

I wonder how my brothers are enjoying themselves, she realized, remembering how they, too, were also transformed.

Even now as she slowly sank down to the seabed, she could see herself in her shining armor, wielding her aqua axes and gripping onto the propellers in her blue hands.

Strange, she realized, staring at her propellers in wonder. There used to be hooks where her hands were now. It was a queer feeling; having five individual fingers on each hand made her feel in control of almost everything.

At last her feet hit the ground, kissing the wet sand with a small thud. The feeling startled her, nearly causing her to drop her axes.

What was it the Turaga told me? she wondered, bringing a finger to her lip. And then it hit her. Oh yes!

These two words bouncing within her head, the blue swimmer reached for her aqua axes. Strange, she thought, examining her new weapons. They look more like flippers than they look like axes. Keeping this thought in mind, the blue swimmer felt as her fingers left the presence of her axes.

She noticed as one axe strapped around her feet—and then the other. They fit perfectly! she realized, her smile glowing.

Now the only things in her hands were her propellers. Is this how I will swim from now on? Like the motors on a boat, her blades began to spin, creating twin streams of bubbles behind her hands. The force of it all brought her off her feet—as well as her flipper-shaped axes.

Feeling weightless before the power of her new tools, the swimmer started kicking her feet. She felt as the metal of her axes seemed to make her twice as heavy as she was before. She kicked once, then twice—and she was off.

I can't believe this! she shouted with glee. I thought I could swim fast before. But this—this is incredible!
