Aoba sighed and leaned back in his chair, bored as he usually was now that Ren didn't go to work with him. Junk Shop Mediocrity wasn't any more popular than it was before the collapse of oval tower so he didn't have much to do all day. The difference was, he couldn't talk to Ren when he wasn't busy. The silence was deafening. He absentmindedly tapped his pencil on the desk, silently hoping that someone would call and break the silence. Closing his pale yellow eyes, he heard the bell ring as the door opened.
"Are you bored Aoba?" a familiar deep voice asked, walking over to the bluenette.
Aoba smiled. "Did Granny some with you Ren?" he asked as he opened his eyes and watched Ren walk over and sit on the barstool where he used to sit when he was an Allmate.
"No, Tae-san was busy helping Clear so I came by myself." the taller man replied, smiling back.
"Alright. My shift's almost over so we can leave soon."
Ren nodded and looked around the shop. "It's so different seeing things through Sei's eyes."
Aoba froze. It's true that the body Ren was in was originally his older brother Sei's but…it still made his sad when he mentioned it.
The phone rang.
"I have to answer this." Aoba apologised. Turning away from Ren, the blue haired man answered the phone, calmly talking to the person on the other end of the phone.
Ren watched silently, his amber eyes barely showing the sadness he felt every time the subject of Sei came up. Sure he'd been the one to mention him but... Shaking his head slightly to clear it, the amber-eyed man stood up and walked over to stand next to Aoba. He noticed the look of confusion on the bluenette's face and smiled reassuringly as he set one hand on his shoulder.
"ALright, your order should be ready for pickup by tuesday…okay...thank-you…goodbye" Aoba hung up the phone and let out a sigh, leaning back and looking up at Ren.
"Let's take the long way home." Ren smiled.
"O-okay" Aoba replied, surprised by the suddenness of his request.
"I believe it is the end of your shift now." Ren noted as he stepped back to let Aoba stand up.
Aoba stood up, confused by Ren's actions. What was going on with him today?
