Hogwarts will not fall
Lavender had never felt more alive than it that moment, the moment she knew she was about to die. She heard the screams of the other students. Some screamed in terror while others roared a battle cry. Lavender heard the crumbling walls and dearly hoped none would crush her. She didn't want to die buried and unseen. It terrified her. She couldn't decide what hurt the most. Her head was pounding from the fall, but her neck felt on fire from the bite. Her blood felt hot on her skin yet the cold air chilled her to the bone. It was too cold and it was getting darker. The colours and the sounds blurred around her. She was terrified. She wondered if this was how Colin Creevey felt. They blew him out of the castle. She had locked eyes with him in that moment. His face was bloody and tired and so much older than he really was. A flash of light then blinded her and he was gone.
She had seen several fall. Some friends and some enemies. With moments playing clear in her mind, she raged like an ember. She gave a thought for those that fell before her and another one for those that would fall after her. She gave a thought for the Golden Trio. It was at that moment, when she felt Fenrir being ripped away from her tired body, that she knew. When Hermione Granger screamed in rage and terror for her, she felt it. Deep beneath her skin to the very core of her soul, she knew that they would win. She would not be there to see it, but they would survive this. Hogwarts would not fall. How she wished she could tell them that. How much she believed in them, in Harry, Ron, and Hermione. However, her world was already dark. If anything, she tried to smile. She wasn't sure if she achieved it, but hoped the corners of her mouth would lift and convey a message. She believed in them more than anything else. Lavender heard the faint and almost silent whisper of her name. Then she heard nothing.
