Part 1:

James Wilson glanced down at his watch. The time was now 5:00, and his patient was now three hours late. Sighing, he picked up the phone and dialed her number. Ring...Ring...Ring..."Hi this is Grace. I've currently vacated the planet and left my phone behind. Don't leave a message"...Beep. "Hi, Grace...this is Dr. Wilson at Princeton Plainsborough. You were referred to me by Dr. Gaines. I was just calling to remind you that we had an appointment this afternoon at three. Its...a little after five now, but I'll be here until eight if you still want to come in. If not, give me a call, and we'll reschedule. My number is 452-5754 ext. 202 Thanks." Hanging up the phone, he finally allowed himself to laugh..."vacated the planet"...Glancing down at the file, he was surprised to find that an aversion to phone calls wasn't the only thing this patient had in common with House. They also had the same last name. He was certainly going to have fun with that later. As if on cue, Dr. House burst through the door. "Hey, Jimmy. I'm hungry. Come buy me a Reuben."

"Buy your own Reuben, House. I'm busy."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Some kid is dying, and you simply can't leave their side."

"Something like that. I have an appointment."

"Really! Are they invisible? Hello invisible people! My name is Dr. House, and I'm famished."

"She's not here yet. She was actually supposed to be here at three bu..."

"Hah! It's five O'clock. She's not coming. Buy me a Reuben."

"I told her I'd be here until eight if she changes her mind. It does tend to be a bit unnerving to find out you might have cancer. She's scared. She'll come."

"Jimmy. Have I mentioned lately how incredibly naïve you are?"

"Not naïve. Just optimistic." Taking out his wallet, he handed house a five. "Here. Go buy a Reuben."

"What if I don't want a Reuben? I want to hang out here with the invisible people."

"Get out House. I'm busy. Even if my patient is currently MIA, I do have paperwork. Speaking of which, I'm sure you have a heaping stack of your own now that Cameron is gone... Though, if you hadn't of fired Chase, you might still have her here to do it."

"Alright already...Jeez...I'm going...No need to get your panties in a wad."

"Night, House."

PS: This is my very first attempt at fanfic. I know this chapter is short and doesn't really give much away as to where this story is heading, but hopefully, I'll have time to do another chapter soon. Comments and critiques will be appreciated. Thanks for reading.
