Sergeant Domitan of Masbolle (a.k.a. Dom) paced nervously in his room, "Oh Gods! How did this happen? How will I tell her?" he thought aloud. Dom flopped down on his bed think thinking of her.
He smiled as he pictured her creamy skin, her dreamer's hazel eyes, her now shoulder-length brown hair, her neck, her shoulders, her br— "No! Bad Dom!" he scolded himself. He would not allow himself to think of Kel (Lady Knight Keladry of Mindelan he reminded himself) Kel like that. After all, she wasn't his yet and he didn't think Kel felt that way about him anyway!
Dom sighed and ran his fingers through his thick black hair. He was going to do it. Tomorrow morning he was going to march right up to her door and tell Kel exactly how he felt. How much he loved her and how he could not stop thinking about her. The sergeant smiled as he fell asleep, hoping to dream about his beloved.
Somewhere else in the palace, at the same time…
Kel groaned at her desk. She was surrounded by stacks of paperwork. Reports for the king, reports for Lord Wyldon, reports for Lord Raoul… the list was never ending. All of a sudden, there was a knock at the door. It was Tobe with a package addressed to Kel from Neal and Yuki. She opened it. Inside there were souvenirs that the newlywed couple had sent her from their honeymoon in the Yamani Isles. Kel looked out the window and was surprised to see that it was dark outside. She sighed and went to bed. "Neal and Yuki are so in love…" she thought. Keladry wished she loved someone. You do… his name is DOM argued a little voice inside her head. Kel smiled as fell asleep with thoughts of him.
It was late in the evening when Kel was arriving at her rooms. She had been so busy all day. 'THUMP!!' The lady knight found herself on the floor. She had tripped on something. Kel looked at it. "Someone actually" she thought. The 'someone' was in fact a sleeping Dom who was leaning against her door. Hope rose in Kel's chest as she pondered why he might be there. But she pushed it back down thinking, "he would never like me like that!"
Dom looked at the worried face of the woman he had been dreaming about. "Are you alright?" her melodic voice asked him. "I am now Kel, I am now." Kel looked at him oddly before helping him up and letting themselves into her room.
Kel and Dom sat on her bed. Dom looked really worried and nervous. He looked everywhere but at her. Kel could feel her heart start to break. Dom noticed the pained expression on her face, "Are you alright?" She didn't answer him, just looked away. He wanted to help her; he wanted to take away her pain. Dom couldn't help it, he kissed her.
Dom kissed her and, she kissed back! "Kel, I… I love you." she heard his husky voice whisper. "I love you too Dom" she replied. Overjoyed and a little surprised, Dom kissed Kel again… and again… and again…
Later that night, Kel sighed contently as Dom's warm arm wrapped around her naked body. She thought about what Dom had asked her before. "I am now Dom," she whispered, "I am now."
