Recap: When one of Tony's old cases ends up re-opened, he switches roles with Gibbs to finally solve the crime.
Who would've thought?
Tony took a deep breath and leaned against the pale wall behind him. He fiddled with the black cell phone in his hand; he heard it beep and buzz in his hand and realized he had accidentally accessed Gibbs's text messages. He hurried to click the blue cancel button, telling the phone not to erase the messages. He didn't know Gibbs even knew how to text let alone that he had saved fifty text messages. Curiosity took over and the Itallian browsed through the inbox of messages, the black and white patterns of spaces and letters melting into a spiral in his brain. He stopped when four words struck him and he clicked to open the text message. I love you too filled the screen. He flipped to the 'from' box and the name puzzled him. He went to the sent box and quickly located the message sent before the one he read. I love you was typed in the box. He shook his head as he flipped through the rest of the messages he counted at least fifteen times that he saw those words in both the 'sent' and 'inbox'. He shook his head to get refocused on the case. He guessed he knew along that they were together, Gibbs and Kate. It made much more sense now. How badly Gibbs had taken Kate's death. He answered when the phone buzzed again.
"Yes ducky…"
