Author's Note: I thought there needed to be some more added to this scene to make it more emotional for both of them. Hope you like it!

Megan walks into her apartment and calls out, "Lace." When she doesn't hear a reply, she looks around, curiously searching for something that will tell her that Lacey is here, and that is when she sees it, the torn CD cover art that Lacey drew. She groans while taking off her coat, "Oh no. Oh no, oh no." She sets her keys down on the table and walks over to Lacey's room. She gently pushes open the door and sees Lacey lying on her bed. She walks over to Lacey, unsure of what to do, but then her maternal instincts kick in and she sits down on the edge of her bed. She begins to run her hand up her daughter's side and then gently rubs her face.
"Mom, I'm so stupid," Lacey says as she is crying. She just wants her mom to hug her and tell her that everything is going to be alright.
"Oh, no you're not Sweetie. You are not at all," Megan says. Lacey continues crying and Megan leans down and kisses her forehead.
Megan gets up as though she is going to leave, but then she walks around to the other side of the bed and slips her shoes off quietly and places them near the wall. She gently slides onto the bed underneath the covers next to Lacey and puts her arm around her daughter. Lacey turns over and snuggles into her mom, still crying.
Megan rubs the back of Lacey's head and says, "You know Lacey, my first crush was your father. Look how that turned out. Maybe some things happen for a reason. Maybe this is the world's way of telling you that he isn't the right boy for you. All I know is that everything is going to be alright." She kisses her daughter's forehead and says, "You know how I know that?"
"How?" Lacey asks in a teary voice, "How do you know that everything is going to be alright?"
"Because we have each other. We are going to get though everything together. I'm not going anywhere now that I have you back. I love you Lacey, and I really hope you know that."
"I do, Mom. I do. But thank you for telling me anyway. I love you too, mom. Never let me go."
"I won't let you go. And I never will let you go," Megan says. She hugs her daughter as tight as she can, and she never lets go.
