((AN: Characters are not mine, song is not mine, but I just thought it all fit so well together.))
It's
five o'clock this morning, and the sun is on the rise And it's goodbye again, I'm sorry
to be leavin' you
There's
frosting on the window pane, and sorrow in your eyes
The stars are
fading quietly, night is nearly gone
And so you turn away from me,
and tears begin to come
Goodbye again, as if you didn't know
It's
goodbye again, and I wish you could tell me
Why do we always fight
when I have to go.
Hermione and Severus had spent the majority of the war together, alone at night. In the bedroom, there was no talk of good or evil, only what felt right. However, the regrets would surface every morning, excuses were made. Every morning he would leave her. Each of these mornings, she would cry and begged herself, "Never again."
It seems a shame to leave
you now, the days are soft and warm It's goodbye again, I'm sorry to be leavin'
you
I long to lay me down again,
to hold you in my arms
I long to kiss the tears away, and give you
back the smile
But other voices beckon me, and for a little
while
Goodbye again, as if you didn't know
It's goodbye
again, and I wish you could tell me
Why do we always fight when I
have to go
Severus would always wake up several times
during the night, looking down at his young lover. She seemed so
young and innocent while she slept. It was during these times that he
thought it easier to just leave while she slept, so they didn't have
to deal with the tears in the morning. He could never convince
himself to do it though. He would always lie back down against and
pull her tight against him, his hands stroking through the wild mane
of hair. Give him a few minutes, he would leave.
He said that to himself every night as he held her, and every night would turn into dawn and he would still have her in his arms.
And if
your hours are empty now, who am I to blame But it's goodbye again, I'm sorry to be
leavin' you
You think if I were
always here, our love would be the same
As it is the time we have,
is worth the time alone
And lying by your side, the greatest peace
I've ever known
Goodbye again, as if you didn't know
It's
goodbye again, and I wish you could tell me
Why do we always fight
when I have to go.
