Lucy's eyes opened at light speed when she heard the cheerful chimes of her alarm clock in her ear. She could see the sun shining through her turquoise curtains, illuminating her cherry pink walls, that where swamped in posters of cartoon heroes, Felonious Gru, cheerleading, gymnastics and karate.

The twelve year old, stumbled out of bed and dragged her school uniform out from the very back of her wardrobe. She hated wearing her uniform, it was itchy, hot and uncomfortable, but she had to wear it if she wanted to go to school and get an education.

After getting dressed, Lucy headed downstairs to the kitchen, to be greeted by her grandmother. After her parents where murdered, when Lucy was six, her grandmother (on her mum's side) had taken her in. Through six years of living together, Lucy and her grandmother had become very close. Her grandmother had provided not only a home for her but other things like, a new school, her own bedroom, where she could decorate however and whenever she wants, food, drink, books, clothes, movies, dolls, stationary, hair bands, you name it.

"Good morning, sweetie! How is my favourite granddaughter, today?" Her grandmother asked.

"I'm ok, bit tired though." Lucy muttered, pouring some pineapple juice into a glass.

"I understand, honey. School and that crime fighting thing you do, must be tiring!"

Lucy's grandmother knew that Lucy sometimes went on assignments for the AVL juniors from time to time, it was all in favour of becoming an agent and making her parents proud. The only thing that concerned her, was the fact that being a spy was what got her daughter and son in law killed and she did not want the same fate happening to her granddaughter. But she went along with it to make Lucy happy, something that she hadn't fully been since the death of her parents, understandably.

Lucy finished her breakfast and went to the living room to collect her school bag, only to find her grandmother's cat asleep on top of it.

The one thing that Lucy couldn't stand about living with her grandmother, was her stupid cat, Lemon (which was an odd name choice, considering that the cat wasn't yellow, it was white). Lemon had been a bully ever since Lucy had stepped in the door. At first, Lucy believed that Lemon was just a bit nervous because she was new, but apparently, this wasn't the case. For the six years, Lucy had been living there, Lemon always had it in for her, he would bite, scratch and tear her and everything she owned.

"Move, Lemon! You are on my bag!" Lucy scolded, the cat.

Lemon opened his eyes and gave Lucy a cold stare, shuffled a tiny bit and then went back to sleep.

Lucy frowned before reaching out to pick him up but then hesitated. She remembered the last time she had done that: It was a Tuesday morning, Lucy was sick and was at home for a day. She tried to lay on her bed but found Lemon stretched out on her pillow. She picked him up and tried to gently move him, but suddenly, Lemon scratched both of her hands, causing her to drop him in pain and panic, and then sliced through her new, light yellow pyjama trousers. Lucy's eyes had filled with tears, she had ranted and screamed at the cat, causing her grandmother to come in. When she had asked what was going on, Lucy had tried to explain the tale but to her surprise, her grandmother didn't believe her, saying that Lemon was well trained and would never do such a thing. From that day on Lucy had sworn that that cat was evil and had it in for her, so from then on she reframed from laying a finger on him.

"Lucy? What's taking you so long?" Asked her grandmother, coming into the room.

As soon as the living room door opened, Lemon leapt of Lucy's bag and onto an armchair. Lucy tried to brush the filthy cat hairs and possible fleas off it, before flinging it onto her back.

"Sorry, I was...thinking. Yeah thinking, about a math question...um... x=9+8, I think it's 16?" Lucy lied.

"It's 17, dear. Now, save your thinking for school and get going!"

Lucy nodded and dashed out of the door.

"Bye!" She yelled.

Lucy walked towards her school with a strong temptation to go straight past it. She hated that place. Her Primary School (at this point in her story she is living in England, that's why school grades and names might be different. Primary=Elementary and Secondary=Middle School and High School) was really good, it was quiet, friendly and cheerful. However, her secondary school was exactly the opposite, it was noisy, people always bullied you and everyone seemed depressed. But Lucy knew that if she walked past her school, then her grandmother would be really upset, considering that she had picked that school especially for her because they had karate classes, gym and cheerleading, things that Lucy really wanted to do, so she reluctantly went in.

She did have people bullying her, notably a girl named Millie Amy Peterson. But she could stand up to them any day! She also had quite a few friends to hang out with like, Kelly, Louise and Elliot, so in that department school was great.
