BEGIN AGAIN

The Thousand Sunny was docked in a lively country in the latter half of the Grand Line. The crew was definitely glad to have a small break from their turbulent yet meaningful adventures at Fishman Island and Punk Hazard. Robin and Brook were tasked to guard Sunny; the two of them predicted that the day will remain to be peaceful as no marines were in sight.

The deck was filled with the soft, comforting music that Brook played with his violin. Robin was silently enjoying the serene moment with her oldest nakama as she lounged by her and Nami's usual sunbathing spot. The sun was also setting slowly, giving off hues of orange, reds and purple.

Robin smiled. She decided that the last couple of hours couldn't be more perfect, but as soon as she thought that, raindrops started to pour. Brook already headed to the kitchen, but saw that Robin remained outside, getting soaked in the rain. She seemed to be looking at the dock.

"Robin-san, let's go inside. I don't want to die due to complications of pneumonia. But I'm already dead, yohohoho! Skull joke!" Brook advised.

Robin chuckled and allowed herself inside the kitchen. Brook noticed that Robin seemed to be in a good mood, so he decided to coax the reason for her pleasant disposition. "Robin-san, you seem to be in a rather pleasant mood. Do you mind sharing? In exchange for hot coffee and mellow music, of course." He turned to prepare the coffee.

"I could not say no to that offer, Brook." Robin closed her eyes and enjoyed the aroma that filled the kitchen. "Mmm. Earlier, I was just reminded of the first man that I ever loved." She began, her tone soft.

Brook was pouring coffee into their respective mugs, he quipped. "As much I am interested in knowing if this man was fortunate enough to see your panties, I am equally as eager to know the story of your first love, Robin-san."

"Thank you, Brook-san." Robin said as Brook handed her her mug of coffee. Before she started sharing her story, she idly watched Brook pick up his violin, tune it and positioned the bow. Then he started playing a melody which may have been the star-crossed lovers' theme song. It started smooth and gentle, but the notes were lonely, much like a forlorn epic.

"His name was Aidan. He was a Noble at West Blue. We met at a cafe wherein I worked as a waitress." She closed her eyes and smiled. "Oh, that had been 15 years ago."

Brook remained silent as Robin continued, "I was young then, but I knew that the world was a cruel place. The cafe was situated in a small town in West Blue, and I knew that it was only a matter of days or weeks before someone recognizes me and try to hand me over to the marines for the bounty on my head."

A slight pause and she continued, this time, looking at Brook. "I was fortunate enough to have worked there peacefully for roughly half a year."

"And Aidan, Robin-san?" Brook was curious.

"Yes, yes. Aidan was the first one who noticed that I am Nico Robin." She chuckled at Brook's curiosity.

My first fanfiction after 12 years of not writing. Been recently hooked to One Piece again, especially Nico Robin's character. So I decided to create a little story about Robin.

Sorry the first chapter is short. This is going to be 2 or 3 chapters long, but I think it could fit as a one-shot really. I just needed some time for me to actually be able to write a decent amount.

But R&R, I'd appreciate them. Hopefully they'll be constructive. Whatever they may be, thank you for spending your precious time.
