Author's Note-I do not own the characters on Stargate Atlantis, as much as I enjoy them. This story is dedicated to Atheneon who requested a story about Mckay. Warning-Spoilers for Trinity.

Mckay was in a bad mood, but you couldn't blame him. He had just blown up five sixths of a solar system. It was eating at him. Then he was directly responsible for another persons death, he was on his project. If that wasn't bad enough, Elizabeth had spent a good thirty minutes yelling at him. She had a right to hate him, but it didn't make it any easier. She was one of the few people whose opinion he actually care about. He had lost her trust. He had lost Sheppard's trust. He had lost Radek's trust and he didn't know how he could live with that.

Mckay went to his quarters in hope in a small way he could let go of his guilt. Maybe if he could separate himself from the people he had effected and though himself at work he could forget. He knew it wouldn't work, but he needed something so he picked up his computer. There was one new message, expecting to get chewed out again he was hesitant to open it. Finally his need to keep everything organized won over and he pressed on the email. The subject line read: SHOOT FOR THE MOON.

Mckay though someone was going about to make fun of him, but it was using the science department complaint email. He was required to read it. So it he opened it and looked at the page.

Dear Dr. Mckay,

People are watching you; we recognize that you were going even though some of us will be cruel. After all it is often when you showed us our own mistakes and rightfully so. We live in a world were a decimal place can blow up a lab. But it is harder for you to fail, you are suppose to be the corrector of mistakes not the maker of them.

Mckay, Shoot for the Moon for if you fail you will fall among the stars. But when you trip and fall amount the stars learn to pick yourself up and fly again.

Good luck with learning to live with mistakes. No one is perfect, not even you.

Mckay looked up a blinked slightly. Some how the letter made him feel a little better. It also showed him what he needed to do. He went to go talk to Radek. He had people he needed to apologize to.
