Title: The Big Day
Author: EA
Summary: It's a big day for Sheik...
Disclaimer: Not mine whatsoever.
Notes:A continuation in the Sheik/Mailbox (SHAM) series. Dedicated to everyone over at the SHAM and zeldasmut Livejournal communities. For clarification, the first SHAM fic was Sheik/Mailbox, the second Link/Master Sword, the third Zelda/Washing Machine (which I did not write), and the fourth is this one. All except the third can be found here on (hint in finding: I wrote them!).

There was a buzz in the spacious halls of Hyrule Castle - an excited sort of electricity that ran through everyone present in the building, including the two legendary heros hidden in one of the rooms in back.
Especially them.
"Hey, you'll do fine out there, so don't be so nervous," the Hero of Time reassured as he laid a comforting hand on his friend's shoulder.
His friend, the ambiguous Sheik, smiled at him, but still looked shaken. "Thanks."
What was it that could rattle even the toughest of the tough?
"You're on," Link said as there was a knock and then an announcement that everyone was ready. He prodded Sheik towards the door. "Good luck, my friend!"
A wedding, of course.
As he watched him exit the door, Link couldn't ignore the growing lump in his throat any longer. Heroes weren't supposed to cry on such occasions. For comfort, he laid a hand on the hilt of his sword.
Sheik's wedding.
Those who passed Sheik on his way to the altar offered their murmurs of well-wishing, and Zelda even stopped him to hug him tightly before leaving to secure a seat in one of the front pews.
The Sheikah joined a washing machine at the altar and began the longest wait of his life...
Groups by groups, people began to file into their seats, and Impa visited the altar quickly to give her nephew an emotional, yet repressed hug. Link, the best man, joined his friend a little while later, looking a little red and puffy-eyed. Sheik didn't question. The postman idly waited by.
Finally...finally the moment had come when the organist began to play a Hylian wedding march and Sheik's bride was escorted down the aisle.
Sheik's love, the mailbox, was carried out by its former owner, the burly Hylian, with lace draped over its opening and white fabric over its post - a makeshift veil and dress, thanks to the Hylian's wife who never had a daughter of her own. He carried it to the altar, and then ditched it and exited the hall, thankful to never have to deal with Sheik and his obsession with his mailbox ever again.
Of course, he didn't quite know that Sheik planned to stay with his in-laws for a little bit after the honeymoon, but that's another story for another time.
Both bride and groom turned to the washing machine (well, the postman turned the mailbox in that general direction, anyway) and waited to be united in holy matrimony. There was a delay before Zelda got up out of her seat to start the washing machine. She returned to the pew, so proud of her lover for having such an important part in the ceremony...
This continued for a few minutes until the washing machine's cycle was completed, and at that point, Sheik kissed his bride. Lo and behold, the two were married, or something.
No one really cared if Sheik married the mailbox, anyway. They just wanted the free food that inevitably came with the reception. And so there was celebration for celebration's sake that continued until long after midnight.
However, someone idly wondered about the honeymoon...
