Nina found herself smiling it was unintentional but she couldn't stop herself, she loved how familiar everything was. The sound of Alfie and Jerome planning their first prank of the new term, the harsh yet loving sound of Patricia and Eddie trading insults, the sound of-
'Watch out!'
At least half of Amber's designer handbags were beginning to topple over the ancient wooded banister, Nina laughed and stepped out of harms ways watching the bags crash onto the floor and then the sounds of Amber wincing as the contents began to smash.
'Daddy's going to kill me!' Amber began to cry. 'All of that was brand new and I promised daddy it would last me all term, what on earth am I going to do!'
Trudy appeared in the hallway, now covered in everything pink and frilly, and immediately began to comfort Amber. 'Don't worry sweetie I'll clear up everything and get it safely transported into your room.'
Amber's face lit up, her tears already long forgotten she began to make her way down the creaky oak staircase 'Thanks Truds you're the best, I don't know what I'd do without you!'
As Amber reached the bottom of the stairs she linked arms with Nina but not before she flashed her award winning smile at Trudy showing she was truly grateful, Nina and Amber walked into to the living room the smell of homemade snacks hitting them instantly. They joined the rest of the house in eagerly awaiting the arrival of Joy, Fabian, Mick and Mara.
