Just one drop.

He'd never admit quite how much is hurt every time someone looked at him with that knowing x-ray scrutiny, like he might blink and be the demon. Like he should the one staring down the gun barrel.

Or maybe two.

It might be his brother's comments and worried stares that hurt the most. That fear, etched deep into that young face, every time something he couldn't control happened, every time they had to face those few drops. Every time they had to face what he really was.

Barely three little drops, but they made all the difference.
