Hey everyone, details are below.

Prologue
I never thought that I'd end up in such a place, nor did I consider ever taking up my current job. I used to attribute it to people who were more or less accustomed to the shadier parts of society. Unfortunately I've learned that not everyone can live how they want to, and it's an experience that really opened my eyes. The kind of people I encounter each day enables me to understand this new world that I've inexplicably found myself in. The various stories I've heard also let me know that I was extremely lucky; there have been people like me who suddenly disappeared, and it's not like I'd ever be missed - not here, anyway.
My life before, and even now, had been rather simple. Before, I would go to work, attend class and study. Outside of regular living requirements, that is.
Now is pretty much the same except that I struggle a bit more. There are languages I don't understand and places I've never heard of. I swear I learn a new one every day, if not more. Apart from that I have to keep myself from staring; people are rather strange these days. Before I ended up here I had never seen a person with scales for skin, or another covered completely in long shaggy fur. All humanoid, of course, but I was sure that such things were purely fictional. For entertainment purposes.
I'm not the type of person who makes a huge deal out of things. I managed to get over the initial trauma of my situation several years ago, not long after it all began. I sometimes find myself wondering if I could have handled things better, or if maybe everything was meant to play out exactly as they did. I'm not a big believer in fate, but occasionally I can't help but wonder...
Surprisingly I love my job; the regulars are amazing individuals and the pay is fair. The currency took some getting used to, though. My boss is absolutely fantastic as well; he found me and gave me a place to stay, and I'll never be able to thank him enough. This small moon has become my new home and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
My name is Alice and I've been a bartender for the past five years. I don't work in any regular establishment, at least, not by my original standards. Someday I may try to publish my experiences. Apparently my viewpoint in this area could be a unique sell; twenty first century girls aren't renowned for living so far ahead of their time.
I have customers who annoy me, some inspire, and others - let's just say they're confusing and leave it at that. Those are the ones that keep me up late at night, trying to understand them. One in particular stands out and he baffles me most of all: an intermittent regular who's never told me his name...

Hi guys,
I know I have a great ton of stories going on, but this one won't leave me alone - I've tried to ignore it but this plot bunny is so damned persistent!
Anyway, this will be a series of interconnected vignettes or oneshots - kinda like my other Drabble series I have going on at the moment. I'm not sure how regular this will be but I'll try to update as soon as I can. It's a memoir style fic and I hope this wasn't too wordy or anything. I tried my best to keep clear of unnecessary stuff, but you never know...
Thanks for your patience and understanding,
Shadow
