The War
I stood
in line
With
the other
New
recruits
Waiting
for orders
I was
sent to the front line
Full of
energy
I
charged
Hoping
to make a difference
I swung
my blade
Ferociously
at the foe
Continuing
to swing
Because
I was useless
After
all of that work
The
enemy bore not a scratch
I
fatigued quickly
Letting
my guard down
Then it
struck
Black
claws stuck in my side
I
screamed in panic
And
fell to my knees
Hoof
beats came thundering
And I
looked up
To see
a golden light
Obliterate
the beast
I tried
to stand
To help
once more
But the
world began to spin
And I
was plunged into darkness
I awoke
in a bed
Fellow
soldiers
Bandaging
my wound
Helping
it to heal
Soon I
was ready
To
attack once more
Only
this time
I
wasn't alone
Experienced
fighters
Stood
by me
Energized
me
Helped
me
Still,
I'll never forget
The
General that saved me
That
picked me up
And
brought me to allies
One day
fairly soon
When
this war is over
We'll
all see the General
Standing
high atop a hill
He'll
sheath his sword
Once
and for all
And so
will we
When
the war is over
After
all of that
I'll
speak with Him
Thank
Him
Praise
Him
I don't
know
The
battle plans
Or when
The
fighting will stop
The
plans are strange
At
first
The
plans are perfect
At last
Only He
knows
What
will become of me
Or when
the fighting
Will
cease forevermore
