Patrick Jane lies on his couch bored.
There are no new cases, and no one for him to annoy.
Van Pelt's doing paperwork, Rigsby's attempting to look like he is working, but is failing miserably, and Cho is talking on the phone to someone.
He can't even annoy Lisbon as she's in the toilet. Again!
Seeing the arrival of a new person in the office, he sat up excitedly. Could this be something?
Hanging up the phone, Cho turns to the new arrival. 'How can I help you?'
'I'm looking for an Agent T. Lisbon.'
'And you are?'
'Special Agent Brad Livingstone from the FBI,' he said in a cocksure manner, flashing his badge. Jane's decided that he doesn't like the man. But that doesn't mean that he can't have some fun with him.
'And your purpose for being here?' continues Cho in his standard flat tone.
'I'll only speak with Agent Lisbon. There are some things that he needs to be aware of.'
In sync, both van Pelt and Rigsby turn to Jane, looking for guidance as to the mixed gender and how to explain her absence. Jane now has a huge grin on his face. They thought Teresa was male? Oh, even better!
Winking his eye at the team, he nodded at Special Agent Livingstone. 'The boss just stepped out for a minute. Back soon.'
The team held their breath as Lisbon re-entered the CBI offices. Walking up to Special Agent Livingstone (who is a good six feet!) she sticks her hand out for the file she's been expecting.
Special Agent Livingstone ignored her, but when she didn't move he asked with derision: 'Do you need something lovey? Which of these people do you belong to?'
With a sharp intake of breath, Rigsby turns to Jane wondering how he would react, but he's got a huge grin plastered over his face. This was going to be good.
The team all watched as Teresa 'advised' Special Agent Livingstone in no uncertain terms just who she was, before ordering him into her office to finish the conversation.
Special Agent Livingstone is still rooted to the spot after this dressing down as the team struggles to hold back laughter, before he finally makes his way to the office, shutting the door gingerly.
It made for quite a topic of conversation at the team dinner that night!
