Aries - Chrysomallos
"I have to save them!" Ginji screams, tears rolling down his dirty cheeks, the small body writhing in Teshimine's strong hold. "Lemme go! They're going to kill them! I have to save them!" His desperation echoes in the ruined walls, in the cracks of blood-tainted sidewalks, and meets only silence. Teshimine doesn't know what to say, what to do, except carry the boy to safety and hold him tight until the screams turn into sobs and the sobs turn into labored, exhausted breathing.
Sacrifice
When people ask Ginji why he just smiles and shakes his head. He doesn't know – it's just that he can't stand looking and doing nothing. He does not fear death, or maybe he does, but the impulse to put himself in the line of fire is too strong.
The Golden Fleece
"This area belongs to the Volts. Please, leave now." the boy stood straight before Ban, unafraid, his quiet voice punctuated by the crackle of white-blue sparks around him. He was lean and strong, with brown eyes swimming in contradictory emotions, blond hair shining with a light of its own against the sad gray clouds. For a split second, the Snake Bearer saw the real person behind Raitei, a warm heart painfully suffocated by barely controlled fury."Beautiful" Ban thought, hands clenching with the need to touch. He had arrived in his Colchis – it was time to claim what was his.
Fire – Mars
Despite his friendly nature Ginji does not cower from a fight, no matter the odds. Although he is not blood-thirsty he appreciates a little combat from time to time. When fighting, Ginji is different from his usual clumsy and goofy self, his moves fast and sharp and full of grace. He battles the same way he talks, the same way he loves – straightforward, open, with a surprising cunning that never trespasses the boundaries of his unwavering honesty.
Author's notes
In case you are curious about the keywords for each paragraph, Ginji is an Aries. This sign belongs to the element Fire and is represented by a ram or a sheep, an animal freqüently used for sacrifices in some religions. It is ruled by the planet Mars. Related to Aries is the legend of Chrysomallos, the Ram with a Golden Fleece, sent by Hermes to save the siblings Phryxus and Helle from being sacrificed – after accomplishing his mission, Chrysomallos was sacrificed, by its own will, to Zeus, and its fleece preserved and kept in a cave in Colchis, guarded by a dragon. Years later, Jason – a prince tutored by Kheiron, mythical character related to Sagittarius, Ban's sign – killed the dragon and snatched the Golden Fleece.
