I swear I can't be the only person who was left fuming about how they let the Ed-Winry ship just die at the end of the seires and the movie.

Unfortunately this poem contributing nothing to remedy that wrong, this is based Ed's conversation (in the movie), about the people from the different worlds having the same faces. This fic was also inspired by the Texas song 'Summer Sun'.

(A/N1 Because the peotry formatting is just difficult, I had to seperate the... bits with x's. The x-x-x are just line divisions, the space of a line but the /x-x-x\ are divisions where there were meant to be two lines spacing. I fixed it up one last time because the formatting was killing me, it looked rough... A/N2 I very much doubt that I will be continuing this, it just popped out one day and refused to be buried until it was posted.)

Winry was left behind.

Liquid Sun

x-x-x

He'll hear her gasp and shudder before she shattered…

Then she would turn, still, in his arms and inhale…

…They always lay in this way after…

x-x-x

She toyed with his hair. He gazed at her silently

She was doing it again.

Holding his hair in her fingers… as lightly as a caress...

x-x-x

Comparing…

x-x-x

…A small smile would find itself on her face…

And she'll be gazing up from the bed, lost to him

Mind, a world away…

/x-x-x\

/x-x-x\

The sheet trails behind her

As she pulls open the curtain;

To stare at the liquid sun…

x-x-x

Revelling in the likeness

Of the warmth that enveloped her…

So long time ago…

As she gazed into eyes that were like the sun

/x-x-x\

/x-x-x\

Her eyes close

And she leans back against the window frame

Tired of it all.

x-x-x

… Suddenly

His warmth surrounds her

And strong arms are encircling her…

/x-x-x\

/x-x-x\

She smiles.

She had forgotten she has got the sun…

She thought, studying the lowered face.

x-x-x

…Even if it was an illusion

Or just a reflection.

At least this one

/x-x-x\

/x-x-x\

Didn't… hurt like the real one

Didn't leave…

Didn't burn…

x-x-x

She looked up at the reflection

But his darker eyes were unfathomable…

She didn't understand it… but he still

/x-x-x\

/x-x-x\

He would always…

Hold her tighter, nonetheless

Staying with her as she watched the liquid sun

x-x-x

Set once again.
