A random one shot crossover with the Remnants series by K.A. Applegate. I was re-reading Begin Again and this idea came out of nowhere. Mostly because Billy and Elizabeth share their last name.

Anyway.

SPOILERS for Remnants Book 14 and mild spoilers for Season 3 and after for Stargate.

John Sheppard had seen lots of strange things in his career.

The floating golden kid in the middle of the hallway didn't top that list but it was up there. "Okay…this is… Odd."

The kid looked at him. He spoke and the words were faint and crackly, like a stereo with bad reception. "No Mother…this is wrong."

"McKay, come in." John whispered into his mic.

"What?" Rodney's voice was harsh.

"Check the readings for the southwest corridor on floor three. Section 2A. There's something weird going on here."

"Weird. I'm weird. Billy Weird." The golden boy smiled a knowing smile. "The Weird Billy Weir."

Sheppard froze. Silly. It was just a name. A last name. "Elizabeth…"

"Sheppard, what's going on?" McKay's voice blasted from the walkie.

The boy frowned. "Yes… she was Elizabeth Weird. And now she's a robot. A machine. Like Mother."

"Who are you?" Sheppard demanded. "What are you? Are you an Ancient?"

The boy laughed. "I am many in one. The Troika, Mother, The Five Embodied in Me, She, and Billy." He frowned again. "I'm not supposed to be here."

It was like talking to a schizophrenic, Sheppard decided. But this kid didn't feel dangerous. Actually, just seeing him made Sheppard feel… sad. Lonely, but the kind where you're surrounded by people. Just not the one person you really want to be with.

Sheppard could relate to that very well.

"John?" McKay's voice was concerned now.

"I am Mother's Child. The only one who loves her. She's taken care of me, of us. The Remnants of Earth. The Survivors of the Rock."

"Earth? What happened to Earth?" John tried to calm himself.

"I have to go now. Mother needs me. The others need me. The regreening…Good luck lonely humans."

Sheppard was left staring at an empty hallway.

"It was a dimensional rift. He just slipped through from another dimension. Earth is fine. Our Earth anyway." McKay paused. "Are you alright?"

"Yes, Rodney, I'm fine. It was just...strange."

"Yeah, floating inter-dimensional children who know all about our world. Strange. But the rift is gone now. Closed back up. Everything's fine."

"I wondered what happened in his world. His dimension, I mean. It sounded like an apocalypse."

"I don't know. Look Sheppard, it's not real. Not for us. And we have our own problems." Rodney was already back at his computer.

"Yeah." Sheppard frowned. "Right."

He couldn't help but wondered if Billy Weird was all right.
