Most people believed the newly wed Malfoy's would never last. After all it was Draco Malfoy, pureblood, and Hermione Granger. His parents had begged him not to lower himself to such filth. But he married her because he loved her. His parents couldn't understand how he could love someone with as dirty blood as her. So they disowned him.
Even many years later they still believed they had made the right choice. They had heard since that they had five grandchildren but they never visited them. After all they were filth just like their mother and their blood traitor father. They wanted nothing to do with their son who had shamed them.
Now though they wished more than anything that they could turn back the clock and change everything. But it was too late…

Narcissa could remember with perfect clarity the day that the letter arrived in the post. Her husband had tried to throw it away but she had found it and opened it. In a way she wished afterwards that she hadn't. It read:
Hello,
My name is Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy. I am fifteen years old. I am writing on behalf of my brother and sister, Rose Narcissa Malfoy (aged 13) and Hugo Lucius Malfoy (aged 10). I am writing to inform you of the death of my parents, your son and daughter-in-law. They were killed in a car crash that also claimed the life of my other sister, Cassiopeia Hermione Malfoy. They were all dearly beloved and will be greatly missed especially by my youngest brother Daniel Draco Malfoy who is just 2 years old.
I am writing because although I know you consider us filth I thought you deserved the chance to say goodbye to your son. The funeral is on Monday next the 27th of February. I hope you can attend if only just to try and make up for some of your past mistakes.

They did go to the funeral. They met their grandchildren. And they spent the rest of their life, regretting their prejudices.
